The atmosphere is so pleasant! It’s so cute and tropical. I felt like I went on a mini vacation.
I got the young coconut drink and it was so refreshing and delicious. The food was tasty and their chilie is very good. The fact that everything can be vegetarian or vegan is amazing. I absolutely love the curry I had. I was really full when I left!
The service was also amazing. My server was very friendly and helpful! He was very easy to talk to (:
Great place.

I got massaman curry with tofu and it was delicious! Medium spice, which wasn’t spicy at all, will get hot next time. Love the potatoes and peanuts in it. My date got pad mixed vegetables and it was also really tasty. There was only one server for the entire restaurant in the middle of dinner, but he did well considering. Food came out quickly and portion size was good. I’ve read reviews about inconsistencies, but in my experience this is fairly common with new restaurants initially. Will definitely return and hope it’s still great!

This is our second visit. The first was the day after they opened and it was crazy busy and noisy. This time it was quiet and the food was delicious. We shared a coconut milk soup with shrimp with mild spice — it was sweet and just right spicy. I ordered pineapple fried rice with pork and it also was quite tasty. My wife was very happy with bamboo shoots and beef, spicy sauce on the side. We’d definitely go back for more. The only downside was no alcohol, but our waiter told us that would be remedied with a liquor license by mid-September. Recommended.

I was excited about this place opening in Santa Fe: I was there on opening day and have eaten there more than twenty times, since. Sadly, there is no consistency in the quality of the service or the food. The servings were big on opening day but gradually got smaller as the restaurant matured. I don’t know if they keep changing cooks, but I ordered the pad Thai four times, and each time it was different. The yum nuea was small and overpriced. the pineapple curry was delicious when they first offered it with yellow curry, but later they changed the recipe to red curry, which is still pretty good but I have felt cheated on the portion a couple of times. Sometimes I get lucky and get a good server, but today the service was lame. Don’t expect to get a tray of spicy stuff like is common in good Thai restaurants, I asked for sambal paste and they tried to give me Schiracha. Unfortunately, Santa Feans must still drive to Albuquerque if they want good Thai food.

In short, the average food took a long time. We had a short wait to be seated (~15 min.). We had approximately 10-15 minutes between being seated to having a server. We had approximately 40-45 minutes from ordering until we got our food. I had the chicken pad Thai. The food didn’t taste any better or worse than other Thai restaurant that I’ve had. The price of the food was similar to other Thai restaurants.

The service is great, everyone is really nice. The food is fresh and fit’s every occasion and has a great vibe. The waiters always ask what spice level you want and with which protein you would like or if you prefer tofu instead. Over all my family and I had a very enjoyable time at J and N and recommend it.

I had originally gave J&N 5 stars. Since they’ve opened, things seem to have gone down hill. Portions seems smaller, less flavorful and not quite as fresh. It’s way too expensive for a mediocre meal. I love Thai food, and especially a restaurant that offers vegan options, so this is a huge disappointment.

Deeply disappointed. Twice now in less than two weeks I have been served inedible food at J&N. They must have various cooks, some of whom have no idea how to cook. When the most important ingredients (flavor and sauce) are not added, all that remains are texture and heat. The soaring and uniquely Thai flavors are hit or miss at this place.

Gets one star for the food actually being pretty tasty, but I can’t overlook the bad service. Waitstaff is kind but usually overwhelmed. Each time I’ve eaten here (I gave it four chances), at least one person has been in line to complain to the hostess about the 1 hour+ wait time for food, whether for take out or dine in. On my last experience I ordered take-out for guests from out of town, and was shocked when I got home. On each of the two other occasions I ordered take out I wasn’t thrilled with the half-full, 32 oz takeout container for $13- $17 but figured, oh well that’s what it is. This time, every single one of the 7 main dishes we ordered was less than 1/4 full with barely any vegetables or protein. It looked like the liquid dregs of someone else’s order. I immediately went back to the restaurant, where they were so overwhelmed with back-orders that they couldn’t do anything. The hostess assured me an owner would take care of it when one was in, as she wasn’t authorized to rectify the situation by completing or refunding my order and took down my name and number. No one got back to me. I called back on two separate occasions when neither a manager or owner was present, without anyone returning my call despite assurances someone would get back to me the following day. When I finally went in this evening to try to salvage some reason to keep patronizing the new restaurant in the neighborhood (a refund, a credit, an apology… something?), the owner first tried to tell me it was normal and I was overreacting, then that other people are trying to pull the same thing 2-3x a day. He backed off from calling me a straight scammer, and gave his word that if I produced my receipt he “couldn’t get you all your money back, but I’ll get you something”. I went out to my car and produced a copy of the transaction. He looked at it, and told me “If you come eat here and you don’t like the food or the portions, you can leave. I’m not giving you anything”. I guess that’s his prerogative. I won’t be returning or sending any business to J&N Thai Bistro. They won’t stand by what they serve. Overall I enjoyed the food, but found the restaurant to be understaffed and inconsistent, and the ultimately shortsighted response from management just sealed the deal.

Ordered the food to go. A Pad Thai and a pineapple curry came to $32 which seems extremely expensive for the portion sizes. The food was nothing extraordinary. If the dishes were $5 less I’d be much more likely to go again.
