I stopped by to find the same atmosphere as Coffaro’s, it’s a trip in time..
I eat in, and was amazed by the taste of their pie (always lived the plain), thin, crispy crust and sweet (like the original) delicious sauce, perfect portion of cheese (they use low moisture cheese, that means not watering/grease al all). There’s no other pizza around that can beat J&J Pizza. I returned many times and they’re always friendly. Prices are reasonable and they have specials with soda and coupons (like the old days). The other day, I ordered to deliver and they are perfectly on time. Their chicken calzone are AMAZING.

I honestly think this might be the worst pizza in the entire area. I wish I was joking, but the pizza slices at 7-11 are better. Insane they think it’s ok to put out a pie like this

If I could give this place a negative star I would. Ordered a cheese steak, chicken roll, and cheese garlic bread. the marina sauce that came on the side was ice cold. the chicken roll was ice cold and the dough was raw. The cheese on the garlic bread was ice cold and un melted. Cheesesteak wasnt even cut in half and did not have ketchup as requested .The food wasinedible. Never will order from them again. When i first called to order I was told they were out of chicken park heros, egg plant parm heros, and even GARLIC KNOTS! .called and asked to speak to manager/owner and was told there was no manager and the owner only comes in ever once in a while. will never eat here again.

Best pizza in Jersey when it was still Coffaro’s. Sad it sold and is no longer the best, heck even decent pizza. Very disappointing.

Atrocious customer service. We’ve ordered the same order every Friday night for the last 6 months, our pizza light on the cheese and crispy. Pie was sent with a ton of cheese and floppy. When I called, the guy who answered said he wrote light on the cheese and crispy which is wrong because we have the ticket. He said that it’s light on the cheese and the pictures below clearly show otherwise. While mistakes happen, he completely refused to acknowledge their mistake and was extremely rude on to me on the phone. When my mom called, he proceeded to cut her off and shouted at her saying it was made correctly, he wouldn’t do anything about it, and to call tomorrow if we had a problem with it. Unfortunately he refused to tell us his name but whoever handles Friday night orders has lost a loyal customer and should learn how to deal with customers. Completely unacceptable and will never order from here again

Not Coffaros anymore. Now J&J pizza. Not the same quality. Tastes like generic, machine made pizza. Like Chuck e Cheese. End of an era. Will miss Coffaros pizza.

Stumbled across this place randomly… while charging up across the street.
High quality ingredients, delicious pizza, couldn’t understand why the place was empty when I went there. I will def be coming back.

The best restaurants are the small, out of the way, hole in the wall places that you find in any town in the world. This is one of those places.
I have been eating here as far back as I have been eating solid food. I grew up in South River and this was the pizza of choice. Their pizza is fantastic. It has a sweeter sauce and a thinner crust that makes it unique.
The absolute best pizza they make is the “ground sausage” pie. The sausage is ground up in the sauce under the cheese. The flavor is amazing.
To my knowledge the restaurant has changed hands twice since the original owner, Mr. Coffaro, opened. The quality and taste has never changed with successive owners.
I have always thought their delivery times were a bit long, usually a 45 to 60 minutes wait, so I have always picked up. Even as I moved out of South River, I still occasionally return because there is nothing like it.

One of the best pizzas around. The sauce is amazing, a bit sweet, which is what I like. The staff is very friendly. Family owned…which I think it is great to support small mom and pop shops and family owned places over big chains.
Only downfall is the place could use updating or sprucing up. The appearance could probably bother some people, but I let the food do the talking and the food is great. Anyone who rated 2 stars or less I do not trust their judgment
