When I dined at this place, the place was clean and neat. The employees were very cordial and helpful in deciding what to order. Most importantly, the food was delicious! The catfish was fried to perfection, and I highly recommend trying the fried green tomatoes. The loaded baked potato was good, and their various desserts are tasty and well-made too. I wish that they had a J&J Fish House where I live in Covington, TN. The food and service on this visit was outstanding. My group was very pleased with our food and we left the servers a nice tip. If this restaurant were closer, I would eat here a lot. They have plenty of good things to offer. Previous reviews had me leery, but I found out for myself that this restaurant was very good. If I am ever in Bolivar, TN again soon, I plan to return to J&J Fish House.

I must start by saying..”this has to be some of the worst service that my family and I have ever received.” This was totally disappointing because we had been to your restaurant before and the service and food were good. We had 6 people with 4 separate orders. Two orders came to our table within 30 minutes. The waitress stated that she was have to bring them out separately. 1 came out in about 20 minutes and the second in about 30 minutes. At one point we asked the waitress when we would receive the other 2 orders and we were told there was a delay on the fried okra and fried fish. After watching others receive their food, including those who came in after us and those picking up their orders, we went to the counter and requested a refund for the other 2 orders, 1 hour for food that your employees left under the warmer is completely unacceptable!! Yes, I said “under the warmer.” The manager at the counter had no idea what was going on. He agreed to giving the refund and said that the food under the warmer would be on the house. We glanced at the warmer and there was the “missing” food. Someone apparently had dropped the ball. I hope that the owner reads this review and shares this information with his employees. This type of service is the very reason that we will never return to your restaurant.

A most excellent lunch spot. I was skeptical at first, then saw the parking lot was full, and for good reason.
I choose the fish steaks, after thy guy taking my order went back to a cooler, grabbed 2 and let me see what I was about to order.
Had the fish steaks plate, hush puppies, fries and coleslaw.
The food was excellent the staff was very friendly . I was greeted by both cashiers when I came in, and not the half-bak ed welcome to Moe’s type of a greeting; an actual greeting hey how are you listening to what you had to say getting into a conversation about something that I had with me. It was a very personal experience and I will likely eat lunch here again.

The Lady at the front counter was not nice at all but my Husband and I ordered the same thing 3 piece Chicken strips and fries. My husband wanted fish fillets but they were out. The drink area was a mess with water or something all over the floor with no one cleaning it up just put a wet floor sign up. It took us 10-15 minutes to get our food which was cold and they had no bbq sauce!! And the biscuit was so hard you could throw it at the wall and break a window!!! The floors was dirty. Just overall experience wasn’t great at all. I want be back. My first experience was bad, now 2nd want be a 3rd!

Our order took 35 minutes to get to us and then they were out of what we ordered. They waited until about 5 minutes before bringing out what they did have to tell us. The fish that we did get was overcooked and cold.
