I’m from Florida and a nice plate from Snappers would’ve did the job last night but JJ I don’t know man. This was not it. I got the 3 piece chicken wing and catfish plate and why was the fish so fishy. It smelled and tasted like the ocean! I think we didn’t clean it properly, and that’s coming from me a person that loves cooking and and I’ve never had a complaint of my food smelling like where it’s was captured. I know what meat smells like before and after a clean. Also the chicken was okay but do we not use any seasoning. It was like eating plain chicken with a crust. The crust was very well fried though. And the fries were good. But man…idk if I’ll ever find a spot with some good fish and chicken in Chicago. Next stop Harold’s I guess we’ll see. JJ Fish and Chicken please get it together. Cause I really want my money back

If I could leave 0 starts I would. No air conditioning in the place. It felt better outside in 90 degree weather! I ordered an elote and it wasn’t even full. Half filled. This is the picture they advertise and this is what you get. Also ordered a slushie and it wasn’t melting already when I got it. 0/5

Order the perch fish and it’s was cooked frozen and it also had a bad smell. breading comes off the fish because Cooked frozen. I did not eat the food at all the Oreo cake was a joke. It is not a cake more whipped cream than cake felt like I was eating whipped cream, also lacks sugar in cake.

Had a taste for fried chicken and mac&cheese only for the chicken to smell like fish, and in my opinion the Mac&cheese wasn’t very good. Ordered mash potatoes with Gravy online but found out at pick up that they ran out gravy. Ordering online the option is 10pc to 25pc nothing in between, What’s that all about?. Anyway, maybe the chicken would be better if it was fried on a designated fryer again my opinion, I will not be ordering from here again, disappointed.

Food is good ngl but service is garbage. I’ve ordered food here SEVERAL times; the SAME order every single time at that: One catfish fillet (no bone) and 3 wings. Somehow last night dude wanted to show his ass by lying to me telling me he’s never served me that before after discovering he messed up my order. He gave me 3 pieces of catfish. So I had to pay for the 3 wings I initially ordered. I always spend $40 plus dollars there wasn’t no need to lie. Won’t be going back.

Today I decided to try the food at JJ Fish and Chicken, and got salmon fish and chips. I left the restaurant only to get home and see that I didn’t get salmon, but whiting or some other type of fish very similar to whiting. I’ve had both salmon and whiting often enough to know the difference with look, taste, texture, etc.
I called them to explain, almost certain that it was a mix up with someone else’s order. When the guy answered and I explained that I got the wrong fish, he immediately got argumentative and stated “ma’am, I sell fish, I know for a fact it’s salmon I gave you.” He then started to describe the length and color of the fish he gave me. What’s weird is that I didn’t even say who I was but he know from the jump.
I would have respected him and the establishment if they told me from the beginning they were out of salmon or even after the fact if he apologized for giving me the wrong thing. But clearly they knew what they were doing and simply intend to con customers with the hope that no one would notice or say anything!! Needless to say they would not be getting my business. Best of luck in your business with practices like that!

Love the food but the non African American cashier gets mad when you ask what cheese is in the corn I just wanted to know what they used cuz every place is different and it’s a chicken spot….the sold me a hot sauce bottle that expired last month like be more kind to YOUR PAYING customers.
