In town for hockey tournament at river works, ordered on a thursday night right before close as we got into town late and they were one of the only spots open. Sacrilege to order 30 min or less before close and yet when I arrived at 1150pm on a 0 degree night, the gentleman behind the counter greeted us and handed us our food, I apologized for the last minute order and thanked him for taking it. He was genuinely nice and thanked us for the order. I don’t want to tell the owner how to run their business. I grew up in it and understand completely how it sounds, but bartending and serving most of my life to not have a tip option, it is just an option. I wouldnt be here without the generosity my dad’s customers paid me so I would love to see this added. The food was amazing so much so we ordered again today and this time I brought extra cash to tip for the other night and today, and thanked the gentleman again for his service the other night. I lived in philly for 2 years tried all the best spots, Jim’s is right up there with them if not better quality. I apologize I don’t have pictures of the food, its because it was devoured by the time we got back to the hotel at lecom, we’ll done Jim and most importantly the crew that makes it all go, we will definitely be back!

Jim’s has been there for me at 11 am, 5 pm, 3 am – and just about any time in between. In inebriation, sobriety, or somewhere in the middle – Jim’s doesn’t judge… they just provide the BEST food, every single time.
Jim’s on Chippewa has been a go-to for about 20 years, and the service is still incredible – and food is hot and fresh. The 12” Chicken Finger Sub (and sometimes the Stinger) is generally my go to, and if you’re not the biggest blue cheese fan, feel free to sub for mayo. Everything is made to order, and it’s great value for the price. Their weekly sub deal is also a great choice for a lower price point.
I’d recommend ordering in advance online to avoid longer waits (as I mentioned – it’s all made fresh), and if you’re looking for seating – it might be better to try the Allentown location (this one has a few stools, but if you’re there when it’s busy… they’re typically occupied).
The portions and quality punch above their weight at Jim’s. It’s not typical fast food – these sandwiches are phenomenal, just served in a fast food setting.

Hit the spot. Wish Id gotten a hotter chicken finger sub– they weren’t as crispy as Id hoped. The cheesesteak was pretty perfect, ngl. It was hot and savory and everything I needed on New Years. Staff also handled the new years rush like champs.

I have craved a chicken finger sub since I left Buffalo (completed college) 20 years ago. I finally came back recently and Jim’s was a MUST VISIT…in fact, twice 🙂
First was a late night stop in Allentown (splitting a chicken finger sub (original) with everything and mayo (vs oil), YUM! The combo with fries and of course, a Loganberry soda from the fountain, DIVINE! Second visit, downtown, a CFS for me plus a cheeseburger sub for my husband who promised me a bite but went into an animalistic state and devoured the entire thing Jim’s is a classic go-to for quick, tasty bite.

Probably the best sandwich I’ve had. They have subs and other things. They make all the meat fresh in front of you. Definitely would come back again!

Me and husband went to Jim’s on Chippewa Street downtown it was the worse service ever. We were there on Saturday 11/29/25 around 7pm. Steak wasn’t chopped bread was burned they just threw our sandwiches together. Horrible sandwich.

Good and filling hoagie to eat late at night on the ride home. Messy. Good fries. Sweet potato fries comes right with honey like it was meant to be. Service was patient and got everybody wear they wanted.

Live from nyc, 20 hour layover and this was the best part. The ladies who helped me I wish I could’ve tipped on card. They made my day ! The chicken hoagie was fire ! Great Empty Tuesday afternoon not long wait and it was fresh!
