Reviews
Appetizers got the Japanese style fried chicken-looks like they use the thigh meat instead of breast to ensure the juiciness, the crisp was good, it was a decent intro.
Chicken Yakisoba was amazing, perfect balance of soy sauce and I think tasted like a hint of Chinese 5 spice or a of the tease of cloves, chicken tasted like it was sautéed in sesame oil, now I’m convinced
The marinaded Babyback is to blame for my big back in the making, these were the winner as well! Definition of tender, barely had my fork in before the bone plopped out and skinny dipped into the shallow pool of flavorful
DanDan well I’ll be Danned, perfect amount of spice, the chillis and pork were perfectly dancing
So if you ever in the Sanford area, give these people a try I definitely will be back, they do have happy hour, but my recommendations is to get the Yakisoba and Babyback with a Ramen bowl, thank me later
I used to live in Japan and authentic, delicious Japanese food was a magical dragon I was chasing. Until now!!!
We ordered Soymilk Creamy Croquette from the special menu, karaage fried chicken, Dan Dan ramen, and tonkotsu ramen.
The dishes were so delicious and I felt I was back in Japan. The croquette is the best one I have ever had and not to brag I have had a lot of croquette… the Dan Dan ramen hs amazing flavor and I love the soup. And tonkotsue ramen was so delicious. We both drank every drop!!! The karaage was so juicy and yummy and it’s a wonderful appetizer.
I cannot wait to come back and have more food from here!!!
Before I left, I had the honor to speak with the owner and his family. They were amazing people and super friendly. I cannot ask for more. Thank you so much! ❤️
This is a small family restaurant, and it’s very popular so be patient and your meal will be worth the wait. Everyone was kind and the chef came out to greet everyone.
If your looking for genuine Japanese cuisine, then this is your spot. My family and I will definitely be returning for more.
Update: I came back years later, and still Amazing! They even gluten free soy sauce.
Food : I recommend the Tonkotsu ramen and the Meatball skewers. This is mainly a ramen restaurant but the sushi rolls are authentic so it may not to the American taste. The size portions are great and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Seating and Staff : The seating area is just like the Japanese restaurants, you find a place to sit and they come to you and give you the menu. It is not your typical wait for the waitress to take you to the table kind of thing. The waiter on the weekend and the waitress on the weekdays are both very pleasant and professional.
Facility : Some people in the comments mentioned how the place looks rundown. There are some areas that do look rundown but it’s just the same as any town restaurant from Japan. The decor of the place won’t be just like the typical American restaurants. I love the vibe of the place, it makes you feel like you traveled back in time to the 1980s in Japan, the golden age of Japan. I think that it is so much better atmosphere when you’re enjoying some authentic ramen.
I have never personally had a bad experience with this restaurant.
