Established in early 2024, Jimmy Hill and his son Brian have opened this family-friendly restaurant with the goal of offering a fresh and innovative dining experience. Building upon Jimmy’s extensive experience in various Verona businesses over the last 40 years, including the Fred Hill Sports Academy, O’Neil’s Restaurant and Bar, Lakeside Deli, and Eight Hills Caterers, Jimmy’s Family Kitchen is the start of a new culinary story in the community, blending traditional flavors with unique twists.

My husband and I had dinner here on Saturday night and absolutely loved it. From the moment we walked in, the staff were warm, friendly and genuinely welcoming. We started with two of the new fall cocktails. I had the pumpkin martini, and he ordered the cinnamon maple sour. Both were beautifully made by the talented bartender, Julia, and so delicious that we ordered a second round. On the next round, I tried the pecan pie martini while my husband switched to the pumpkin martini after tasting mine and agreeing it was too good to pass up.
For dinner, we shared the vodka chicken parmesan and the cacio e pepe special. Both were excellent. I truly think Jimmy’s has the best chicken parm in the area. To top off an already great evening, the staff surprised us with a handwritten note thanking us for coming, which was such a thoughtful touch.
Jimmy’s is everything you want in a local favorite: great food, creative cocktails (yes, cocktails worth raving about in New Jersey), and an inviting, family-run atmosphere. We cannot wait to come back, next time with my parents who I know will love it just as much.

Solid Italian comfort food, every dish is worth trying. Lasagna Bolognese was perfect, pasta with short rib ragu out if this world. Nice selection of cocktails at the bar with all of the old stand-bys that you could want.

Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of gathering 18 fathers from one of the preschools in Verona and bringing them to Jimmy’s Family Kitchen for spaghetti and meatballs. I told them ahead of time they were going to be blown away—and they absolutely were.
Having visited Italy twice for 10-day vacations, I know firsthand the difference between authentic Italian cuisine and the American interpretation. Let me just say: out of all the Italian restaurants I’ve visited in New Jersey, Jimmy’s Family Kitchen is running neck and neck with the food I experienced in Italy itself. It’s that good.
I’ve tried nearly every entrée on the menu—except the eggplant (I’m not an eggplant guy, but my wife is!). Every dish has been consistently delicious and authentic. This small, family-owned gem delivers not only amazing food but also exceptional service. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, and the owners and staff go above and beyond with their professionalism.
For our event, the tables were beautifully prepared ahead of time, and within 15 minutes of sitting down, entrees started arriving. Everything was smooth, timely, and absolutely delicious. The fathers left impressed, satisfied, and grateful for the experience.

Since they opened, we’ve hosted multiple family events here—a bridal shower, a rehearsal dinner, and two family repasts—and every single time, they have delivered above and beyond our expectations. Brian and his team consistently hit it out of the park with their outstanding food and top-notch service. Jimmy’s has become our go-to local place when we go out. Great local atmosphere, friendly staff and most of all great food. My wife is vegan and they are always happy to make her a special off the menu meal that she loves. The lasagna is the best I ever had, chicken savoy is a classic. I can’t say enough good things about Jimmy’s Family Kitchen. Just had a baby shower and everything was amazing. Brian is very accommodating and wants to make sure you get exactly what you need and ask for. Him and his team go above and beyond to meet your expectations and they did not fail! They gave us plenty of time prior to the event to set everything up and made sure everything was customizable. The food is outstanding and the service is wonderful. I will definitely be using Jimmy’s for future regular visits/ more events and 10/10 would recommend everyone else to go there as well. You will not be disappointed!

I have recently discovered this restaurant and was intrigued to try it. I got a mocktail with fruits of my choice, which was great. The daily specials are a nice addition to which I recommend the Vodka Sauce Flatbread – you won’t regret it. The Bolognese was tasty, as was the chicken savoy. I recommend the most to get the beef short ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and the vodka penne with added burrata. Both were my favorite and were delicious. I recommend arriving earlier than later due to the limited parking in the back of the establishment’s lot. Definitely make a reservation if you plan to go on Friday-Sunday, it tends to get busy, other weekdays are ok without reservations. The tiramisu was good but wish I tried the cheesecake as well. Been back twice in 2 weeks and I can definitely say I will return again.
