Let me tell ya…… i stopped in down at Def Louies to relay some anazing news to my bestie Kayla Chaffee-Teeters and she had me taste the new sauce that was on the menu and lemme tell ya….the new spicy teriyaki wings that Todd At Def Louie’s makes…… they’re fire and they make you wanna slap yo mama!! You get the sweet yet spicy tones right off the bat whenever you open the box of deliciousness…. The crunch is absolutely amazing on every bite and you get so much flavor it’s just amazing. The sweetness to spicy ratio on these bad boys is spot on. This guy puts his heart and soul into his food and he truly makes some of the best wings and sammiches I’ve ever had. 10/10 on every level… Presentation, flavor profile, crunch, freshness and everything else across the board…..

Why did it take me so long to find such a good hoagie place! I got the steak hoagie with jalapeño beer cheese. Wife got the fratelli which was equivalent to an Italian hoagie. The ingredients were high quality. The service (cashier) was super friendly. The owner was there and told us about their mascot def louis who is Deaf and they said is consistently the employee of the month! They said louis goes there sometimes and supervises on Mondays! Anyway back to the food…!!! Delicious!!! Sorry I didn’t get a picture of my steak hoagie. I scarfed it down and accidently ate my phone… all jokes aside. I put this steak hoagie up amongst some of the best I have ever had! We will be back. Next time we are gonna try their hand breaded chicken tenders. Spoiler… the chicken wings also looked amazing… but cant testify to that.

Decided to take Def Louie’s up on their Super Bowl wing special for a catering job for my business. 27lbs, 4 different flavors. Even though the Super Bowl was on, the wings stole the show! Everyone complimented and asked me where I got them from. A few people even said it was the best they have ever had. There was even one lady who said she never had a chicken wing before but since everyone was talking about them she wanted to try and she was satisfied! We got Thai Sweet Chili, Mild, BBQ and Hot Honey Garlic. The Sweet Chili and Hot Honey Garlic seemed to be the favorite although the only thing left at the end of the evening was bones.

Great sandwich shop with excellent food. Owner was extremely nice and accommodating. Seems to be primarily takeout, but they do have a small dine in area if you choose to do so. We recommend and will definitely return!

The sandwich was absolutely delicious, and the fries are cooked to perfection crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Drove from Pittsburgh and found this place by accident, best accident ever. I will definitely be driving back just for this sandwich!! The staff is so friendly which only makes the whole experience even better! Definitely recommend!!

The food is sub par, the atmosphere of the shop and the attitude of the owner and staff is awful. I have no clue why a tiny mom and pop sandwich shop in Steubenville Ohio, has decent food with awful owners. Rude and condescending for no reason. I’m not from there, but my family and friends that live there say the same thing. Either get new ownership or this will be another failed “restaurant” in Appalachia.

Highly recommend!! They take their time to carefully make your order and it shows! The sandwich I ordered was very filling with fresh ingredients. My sandwich came with homemade fresh Salt and Vinegar chips. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was extremely clean. I would suggest calling ahead to place your order as they are a small business with huge demand. They have a nice theme with their dog mascot. Lots of interesting photos to look at.

Truly truly an amazing place. Everything at def Louie’s is worthy of acknowledgement and recognition. From the great location, the simple yet welcoming atmosphere, the kindness of the workers, the owner’s great care for his customers, the quality of the ingredients, the amazing taste of the subs. I could go on and on. Def Louie’s is the example of an incredibly well run small business that truly adds value to a town and local community. Steubenville is really a better place because of Def Louie’s. The food is phenomenal, not only their subs though! They recently started selling their homemade chicken wings, and I must say they are hands down the best in the area. Who is from the area knows that there are very good Chicken Wing restaurants in the Ohio Valley. I am here to confidently say that Def Louie’s beats them all. Go there and try them for yourself! Congratulations to Todd for his passion, his cooking talent and the care with which he runs his business, from the smallest details to the final quality of the products that he delivers to the customer.
