Follow-up. I did reach out….never heard back. Thx though.
The previous time, I ordered my food and then waited probably 30-40 minutes inside the store for it. For a couple of sandwiches! After I’d been waiting a while, employees started telling everyone who was coming in that they were slammed with orders and it was going to take them a long time to catch up – so most people started turning around and leaving instead of placing an order.
Decided to give it another chance today, thinking maybe last time was just an outlier – nope. Ordered a couple sandwiches online for delivery, and they did not even send it out of the store for delivery until 40 minutes(!!!) later (not including actual delivery time).
Food was fine/good both times. But absolutely not worth a 40-50+ minute wait.
After two excessively slow experiences I’m done – at least with this location. I’d rather slap a piece of Kraft cheese on grocery store bread than wait nearly an hour for a sub sandwich!
Honestly, I’m not a big sandwich person to begin with but I will hit up a Subway on occasion. My main reason for trying this place out was I saw a bunch of people going in/out of it so I’m thinking to myself it must be good to have this many customers, right? Wrong. Just so very wrong.
Let’s start with the chick behind the counter. No smile. No how are you. She looked miserable and it showed all over her face. Mind you, I’ve never been at a JJ’s before so I’m not 100% certain how to order. All I knew was that I wanted a smaller sandwich instead of the regular size one. I asked if I could get “option A” in a little John – she said No. I asked if I could get “option B” in a little John – she said no. At this point I’m getting irritated because she could’ve just told me what I could/couldn’t order. I’m frustrated so I just order a Cubano and move on. Grabbed a drink and some chips and took a seat.
The guy making the sandwiches was pleasant and he called us when the order was ready. I didn’t know what to expect but I can tell you this, I did not expect a super cold sandwich with cold meat on cold, tough bread. I mean, for goodness sake, have you ever tried the CHEW cold bacon? It was disgusting. How do you serve cold, chewy bacon to a customer? After the unpleasant encounter with the lady who took our order I wasn’t about to go up there and ask her to pop it in the microwave for me so I suffered through about half of it before I threw it in the trash.
I seriously left there frustrated that I just blew thru $26 for THAT!!!!
Never. Ever. Ever. Again!
