The portion sizes were also pretty good as well, I got 2 cheddar cornbread muffins, 2 generous slices of brisket, 3 slices of turkey and 2 sides which were filled to the brim of the cups they came in.
Overall I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
This is probably the best BBQ that I have experienced. The sauces are very tasty. They have a beautiful bar area and a roomy outdoor dining area. There are several big screen television screens for your viewing pleasure. They had employees in the parking lot directing traffic when they entered. They had obviously prepared well for this opening and everything went smoothly for my party of 4.
Our entrees included pulled pork sandwich, baby back ribs & loaded potato. The loaded potato is large enough for two people. Great food
The food itself was classic Jim ‘N Nick’s – pure BBQ perfection. My personal favorite was the jalapeño cheddar sausage link, bursting with flavor. The Carolina pulled pork and brisket were both incredibly tender and delicious, showcasing the art of slow-cooked barbecue. Don’t miss out on the sides either – the mac and cheese and BBQ baked beans were the perfect complements to the meal.
The loaded baked potato was huge, not the toppings were very skimpy… Like very little cheese, sour cream and butter, leaving an overall dry potato. Overall a 4. Would order again with more toppings.
Chili cup seems small when you order to-go overall good.
Banana pudding was sad…$5.99 for a very very skimpy to go portion:(
Overall still a 3+ not quiet a 4 as it was when I ordered to eat in.
Chicken tenders were overcooked and dry and not juicy, not flavorful at all. we asked for a 4 piece tender but got 3.
Honey mustard was more honey than mustard (I like more of a horseradish honey mustard). If you don’t, you’ll probably like it.
The chocolate pie was good, the mac&cheese was very good, and the cheddar biscuits were superb!
The coleslaw was good (you can definitely taste the onion). Fries were alright.
One major flaw was that the pint of brisket chili was only filled halfway. If you’re paying for a pint, you should then get a whole pint.
I wasn’t really sure what an impact fee was, but I paid 2.23 for it. From what I’ve researched, it’s to cover the cost for labor. So. Minus a star for that…mainly towards the owners for making the customer foot the bill for their employees.
Next time, I will try the brisket. I want to like this place and I’m sure in time they’ll get better at the cutting table. I’d ask them to take a look at that impact fee, though. That’s kind of a deterrence.
For my entree I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries, and Leslie had the three meat plate with two trimmings. The Carolina pork, chicken, and brisket were all smoked to perfection and melt-in-your-mouth delicious! The corn was unexpectedly amazing, and the mac and cheese was absolutely irresistible. The pulled pork sandwich was tender, sweet, and slightly spicy, and the fries really cannot be beat. We ended with banana pudding, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Not only was the food incredible, but the service was unlike anything I’ve seen at a restaurant in Dothan. Everyone was friendly and polite, and I truly felt welcome in the establishment. The decor was very welcoming, and the bathrooms were super clean and orderly. Dothan finally has a new restaurant that’s worth the hype!
