This place was recommended by some out of town workers. They talked it up pretty good but we didn’t have time to go. I was heading back to finish a job on Sunday. Me and a coworker arrived at 8:00 PM, an hour before closing. Food was not hot. You know how when you have Thanksgiving and food has been sitting a while, like just on the counter so it’s not fresh? That kind of “not hot”. It was lukewarm-ish. I know it was towards closing time but I had a slice of brisket and a bunch of scraps hiding underneath, some a little too done. The Carolina pork had a bit of chopped up membrane/fatty pieces in it. I would have rather they told me they were out, like when they said the turkey was out. Cornbread muffins were nice. Their BBQ sauce was tasty. I did not care for the other sauce. Sides were good. But not hot. If I am ever in the area again, I will only go if I can at a better time, not near closing time.

Was not able to order my regular meal since I assume there was no brisket. Instead, I ordered a salad with smoked chicken. I have ordered the salad before with brisket but at a different location (Prattville) but since it’s raining and I work closer to the Montgomery location I decided to order from there. This location is a hit or miss. The restaurant did not look busy. Only 2 cars in the drive thru but I placed and order online. My salad has corn nuggets throughout. At first I saw one..then two and now I am picking corn out of the salad. I have never experience corn in the salads before. Is this something new?? This location is definitely off my list. I rather drive to Prattville location. The service was decent. Greeted me, gave me my food and drink.

Waited 50 minutes to get my food & it wasn’t even warm when I got it. Nothing was good except the corn & muffins. The Mac & cheese was horrible, the chicken was nothing but fat & grisle! Ive never had a bad experience & waiting that long on was insane for the food to be lackluster.

Everything was terrible. I ordered on ubereats and wait time was an hr. The food arrived cold. The chicken and pork were dry and bland. I was looking forward to the mango habanero on the pork. There was no sauce and the pork was chopped way too small, it’s almost pulled pork. I would give a zero if I could, spending over $30 for an unappealing, unappetizing meal is really irritating.

While passing through Montgomery, we were just looking for a good meal in a place that felt welcoming—and Jim ’N Nick’s BBQ delivered on both. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere put us at ease. It felt like a safe, clean, and comfortable spot, which was a real relief after driving through areas that didn’t exactly give off the most secure vibe.
The food was solid—classic Southern BBQ done right. Everything we ordered was flavorful and satisfying, and the portions were generous. What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff was genuinely friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home.
To be fair, Montgomery seems to be working on revitalizing itself, and there’s nothing against the city itself—every place goes through ups and downs. But finding a restaurant that offered both good food and a sense of safety made all the difference during our quick stop.

It was our first time eating here. We shared the Mr. Jim’s Combo Plate (Turkey & Brisket). It was sooo delicious. Crystal was our server. She was excellent. We’ll definitely be back.
Edit: We went back a second time. Photo shown. The pulled chicken wasn’t the best…It had a lot of fat in it. Everything else was great.

Came in yesterday to pick up my Thanksgiving order and sat at the bar and had a drink that the bartender Michelle, recommended called a Southern Peach. It was so good! I didnt think I would like it but it was so good! She was so sweet and had great conversations with her customers. I watched her multitasking from making drinks, answering the phone, engaging with her dine in customers and she never seemed to be under any pressure and smiled the whole time. She was just great!
