I bought about 24–25 pieces of chicken for a party, and it was extremely dry and tasted old. The spicy chicken was very hard and dry as well. It was so bad that nobody ate it and I ended up throwing it away. First and last time coming here.

Place your order , keep your head on a pivot , pick up your order and go ! And I would advise you to try to get there while it’s still daylight outside. Enjoy !

Yeah, this chicken run was just plain weird. Not because of any particular place I went is just that we had 3 people. And we each wanted 3 different kind of chickens.n One went for KFC 1 went for wingstop, and then someone went for Jim dandy. At least everybody got what they wanted. Jim dandy had the most braggadocious people. They praised and talked about that chicken, boy. Allows by themselves, nobody had to say anything that was just a conversation in the shop. How Good the chicken was. Anyway Jim Danny wasn’t my Spot that day.

Jim Dandy’s is an Obvious South L.A staple my family members have been coming here for years even when I moved out of L.A we visited and had to stop here before we hit the freeway. Always has Great tasting chicken. I have had bad experiences before but not bad enough to stay away sometimes restaurants can have a bad day,bad week or bad cook overall I still like Jim Dandy’s.

I ordered a chicken breast and a wing. That breast was very flavorful and juicy. The chicken was crispy and filled with a lot of white meat. The wing was good too. It came with some fitters and fries. The fritters was good. I definitely would recommend the restaurant to friends and family. For the price of this meal, you get a lot of band for your buck. Come on an empty stomach. You will leave satisfied.

The chicken is soooo good, its kept behind bullet proof glass. Not kidding. I was lucky to be working in an area close by and this was on my way back. Their fried chicken is the best, super crispy on the outside with excellent crunchy Ness. The inside is tender, even with me being in traffic to get home another 35 minutes, it was a huge chicken breast, so big that me it going to be lunch tomorrow or maybe breakfast. I’ll pop it in the air fryer and relive the deliciousness again. The fritters…. so good! Tastes to me like a plain donut but covered with powdered sugar. The chicken comes with a cayenne pepper sauce that really compliments the chicken. Ketchup for me if for my fries, so if I can remember, next time I’ll say no ketchup. It’s really a to go place, there was a line, but they are quick as they know as much chicken as they fry, it will sell. I asked for regular, don’t know how spicy the spicy chicken is.

Absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. Everything is overfried, oversalted, and clearly designed to mask poor-quality ingredients with grease and sodium. The prices may be low, but the cost to the community is high. Not a single healthy or balanced option exists on this menu.
Places like this don’t serve food, they exploit our neighborhood, no different from liquor stores or smoke shops that profit off harm while offering nothing of real value.
We need to stop normalizing this and start calling for establishments like this to be shut down. Our community deserve better than cheap, unhealthy slop disguised as food.

I stop in from time to time and I gotta say today was a disappointment with the chicken. I ordered a spicy 4 pc only as I always do and it was undesirable. No spicy to it, barely seasoned, taste like it fried in old grease, and what’s up with these pigeon wings and legs. OMG let’s do better

Came here on a Saturday after finishing some work at Cal State DH and arrived a little after noon. There were a few people in line but we were served promptly. Not sure how I found out about this place but was very impressed. The chicken was delicious! And the fritters are fire.
Get a two or three piece and you will not be disappointed. I ordered spicy but it was not hot at all? I am still figuring out the perfect order. Skip the coleslaw, it looks like it came out of a bucket. Not sure yet about the other sides.
Funky place in a questionable neighborhood but well worth the visit. Saw numerous hookers blocks away on the way there. The signage looks like it has been untouched since the 70’s or 80’s. the cashiers are behind blast rated plastic plates. I imaging when/if they were robbed the robber would be more interested in food than cash.
It has been two hours since I ate there and I already want to go back for more!
Update: just tried it again. Got the onion rings and the pasta salad. Could have skipped both. Stick to the chicken and fritters and you will be fine.

Best fried chicken spot if you’re craving some good licking chicken! LOL Everything on the menu is good. The only negative is there no seating to eat there, everything is to go. Best to go to the nearest park and enjoy your meal. Cheerio!! 🙂
