Authenthick Tonkotsu ramen lip smacking good! Perfectly cooked egg! Cha shu pork is melt your mouth tender. Portions are on the lighter side, the quality and richness of the broth make up for it. It was the perfect portion for me due to the richness/thick broth. Gonna try their other soup offerings next time.

No-frills ramen shop

Had the tonkotsu ramen and takoyaki

Ramen was surprisingly good although the chashu and the egg were cold. The noodles were REALLY WELL COOKED and the broth was rich but not too salty

The takoyaki was perfectly cooked, crispy and delicious

Will be back for sure!!!!

I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for a couple years based on recommendation of friends, and the Ramen lives up to the hype.
Authentic Japanese quality ramen in an atmosphere that makes me feel like I’m in small town Nippon.
I enjoyed the Tsukimi-Chashu-Yatai and substituted chicken chasu for the pork chasu. Rich flavorful broth, not salty, and lots of toppings—seaweed, grated yam, egg, onion, and of course chicken.
Highly recommend for flavorful dining

f you’re in the South Bay and craving ramen that tastes like it came straight from Japan, Jidaiya Ramen Dining in Gardena is a must-visit.

The atmosphere is cozy and unpretentious, with the warm, inviting buzz of a neighborhood favorite. Service is consistently friendly and efficient — you’re greeted with a smile, seated quickly, and your food arrives steaming hot in minutes.

The ramen is the star here. The Tonkotsu broth is rich, creamy, and full of depth without being overly salty. Noodles are perfectly springy, soaking up the broth without getting mushy. The chashu pork practically melts in your mouth, and the seasoned egg is spot-on with a perfectly jammy yolk.

Beyond ramen, the menu offers excellent sides — the gyoza are crisp and flavorful, and the karaage chicken is golden, juicy, and addictive.

Prices are fair for the quality, portions are generous, and you can taste the care in every bowl. Whether you’re a ramen purist or just looking for a satisfying comfort meal, Jidaiya delivers.

Tip: Go early during lunch or dinner rush — it’s a local favorite, and seating can fill up fast.

One of the best Ramen spots in all of the U.S., and its this hole-in-the-wall spot. Really good pricess, atmosphere, staff, and the deserts are no joke either. I love coming here, just a pleasant place to be

Spicy Shio Ramen (spicy level 3) was on the salty side but still tasted good. But the Miso Tonkotsu Ramen was way too salty for me. And I was very disappointed with the Takoyaki — the outside was too mushy and they didn’t have bonito flakes on top.

Not sure why it took me so long to come here, but this is now a top 3 ramen spot in the South Bay for me.

Nestled in an unassuming strip mall, Jidaiya offers authentic Japanese ramen with broth from various regions with layers of complexity. We really enjoyed Spicy Shio Tonkotsu Noodle. It has a strong toasty sesame flavor that is absorbed by the thick ramen noodles. The Tokyo Shoyu Tsukimi-Yatai was also delicious. It was refreshing, light, yet rich. Don’t forget to upgrade it to a combination with ramen.

Amazing price and value. High quality food. Fast, friendly, and knowledgeable service. Plenty of free parking. Expect to spend $20-25 per person after tax & tip. Definitely a must try!

Labor Day weekend we ended up in the South Bay later than expected (Beach day followed by a trip to a local brewery), and by 7:30 pm I searched Google maps for restaurants that were still open on a Sunday. I found Jidaiya based on that criteria, and boy are we glad we went. The online ratings were favorable, and this was the most enjoyable/memorable Ramen we’ve had on a while. Real talk, if I’m ever close to Jidaiya, I will be eating here again! The portions were good, the broth was very flavorful. We had happy bellies after leaving there.
