Food has always been fine with me, but the customer service can be better. It’s been twice that I go for pick up and always get an attitude from the cashier. Even gave me an attitude for requesting extra sauce. I mean I understand if it’ll be a charge but don’t just give me an attitude right off the bat. This last time I ordered for pick up again and this is how my jibarito looked. It just seems like they didn’t even care to put it together. And no it wasn’t from the drive home.

This is one of my favorite puertorican restaurants. The rice and tostones are the best. The coffee with coconut is so creamy and sweet, I love it! The only issue is that there is a long wait for the food.

Absolutely ridiculous. Ordered food at 5:59pm after about 19 minutes of waiting a gentleman walks over asking for our receipt so that he could check on our order. Another few minutes go by and nothing. At 6:28 our names were called and this is what I received. Half an order of rice from what use to be a nice size serving and a cold Jibarito.

This place is a hit or miss. It seems like the food is worse when you order delivery. I have gotten old dried up meat in my jibarito, same with the rice. This review is based on the shrimp jibarito that I got for the first time. Mind you it’s more expensive than the pork or steak jibarito, at $13 I expected something good. What I got was an oily mess of cut up sweet peppers and a few shrimps, instead of getting a crispy jibarito I got a soaked in oil, soggy plantain. I was so hungry, from not eating all day and even then I couldn’t really enjoy it as it was disgusting to say the least. On the positive side the pork chop dinner was decent. The alcapurria salty and no meat whatsoever.

I visit this place both times I’ve visited Chicago and now it’s become a “must go” whenever I visit. I’ve never had a better meal and I really enjoyed our server. It was my mothers birthday and they came out with flan!
