I’ve been here a few times for lunch and dinner and always have a great experience. I think they are getting the hang of things now that they have had time to find their groove and each time we go it’s better than the last! The Mac n cheese is exceptional and the chicken sandwich is one of the best in town. I think my husband and I have tried almost everything on the menu and we love it all. The drinks are also delicious with the watermelon margarita being our fav. This last time I got the steak and we shared some wings and everything g was cooked to perfection! Let’s not forget the amazing patio and cozy inside seating. I can’t wait to see what they do with this place this Fall and Winter. If you’re looking for a great date night spot or a place to take Mom go here! You won’t be disappointed.

This place was delicious my wife had the chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese the sandwich was delicious and the mac and cheese was to die for.
I had the wings I got all the sauces off to the side so I can taste each one. The bbq was my least favorite idk what it was just not for me. The lemon pepper was a little salty but great but let me tell you I don’t really care for buffalo sauce but this one is fantastic and the Parmesan was great as well my wife also had a lemon drop which was made perfectly and ended the night with the cheese cake the staff was really great and nice and I would recommend this place to everyone

I went for a late lunch, and Jewel of the North did not disappoint. The food was good. The Banana Pudding was excellent. I had the chicken sandwich with seasoned fries. I personally loved the fries, but they were heavily seasoned (yummy). The bar area upstairs was small, but cozy. The overall restaurant was in an older converted “residential” building. They had an outdoor fire and Christmas decorations which added to the appeal. Parking was limited, but available on a weekday. They had a cozy fire outside on the outdoor patio area. My visit included great service from a busy bartender. I sat at the small, but cozy bar upstairs. Hannah was friendly and even threw in the occasional small talk with me while rushing to serve another table. Overall great experience.

The patio is welcoming with a large firepit was warm and pleasant for this time of year.
Downstairs was a little loud when we walked in because of the bigger group with small children. Went upstairs to the bar and was night and day difference. Don’t let the gross looking carpet scare you away!
Service was exceptional. We had an emergency call before we even got our food and had to change our order to go. They were very considerate with our time and our change. I also added a last minute addition that I was going to order as I left and they were very accommodating.
The chicken shawarma was delish. Taste was on point and the sweet potato fries were perfect crunch. I would order again for sure. The Mac and cheese was fantastic. I can’t wait to try more on the menu.
Parking was kind of packed as you are competing with several other businesses in the area. So had to walk a few blocks to get to the restaurant. But worth looking at all the old historical homes.
Look forward to visiting again.

After reading some great reviews, decided to try Jewel of the North for dinner tonight ordered via DoorDash. The burger was very tasty, it’s definitely not that same boring burger patty you seem to get at nearly every place in town. Fries were good too and I’d imagine they’d be way better hot and fresh, not as takeout and a 10-15 minute drive away. The fry sauce was good, more bbq than mayo based, which is a nice change of pace. The tartar sauce was delicious and fresh tasting. The mac and cheese was pretty good, but the steak added on top was my favourite out of everything ordered. It was supposed to be cooked medium and it was well past that, but so delicious that I have zero complaints! I can’t quite put my finger on the flavour of the marinade, but I’d love to know if you’re willing to give me a hint! I am sure I will order JotN again for delivery, but I think an in-person visit is definitely in my future!

We went to Jewel of the North last night. The food was very good! I had the Mac & Cheese starter which was fantastic, then the Cat Fish sliders…reminded me of being in NOLA and the Chocolate Cheesecake. OMG! My friend had the Hummus plate, the Steak Salad and the banana pudding. Again….YUMMMMM. OH and the Drinks! Mine was summer in a glass and hers was a fantastic jalapeño something but was so good! The kitchen was a bit slow, and they could use more help, but if you are not in a hurry it is a definite must try!

We had lunch on the patio. It was shaded by trees and very relaxing. Their cocktail menu impressed me and I enjoyed my watermelon margarita with a black salt rim. The chicken sandwich was delicious and the fries were seasoned so well I didn’t even need ketchup. My partner enjoyed his steak, and the asparagus in particular was amazing; they marinate it before grilling. I was also impressed with the menu being vegetarian friendly, as they have Beyond Burger and vegetarian chicken that can be substituted into the dishes.
Only downside was the wait time; there was one waiter for the patio, downstairs seating and the upstairs seating. He was running constantly but there just too many customers for one person to handle, so it took a while for service. He was very knowledgeable about the food and drink menus and very personable despite being so busy. Overall it was a great experience, I plan on going back for food or even just cocktails with friends.

Went there just looking for a snack. Didn’t think we would get service since they were just a few minutes from closing but they welcomed us as if it was the height of the day. We sat met to their fire pit and enjoyed a dessert. The place is very nice, almost romantic depending on where you sit.
The service was awesome. The waiter took the time to chat with us for a while and fill us in on some of the restaurant’s background.
Definitely going back since we only had dessert and didn’t explore the menu further than that.
