After passing it many times, I decided to give this place a try. Im glad I did. The lighting and decor give the place some style. The staff is amazing and they greet folks with handshakes. Skylaar was amazing and made me feel at home, these folks love 80″s music. The food was tasty. The tacos were crunchy & juicy. The beast & rice were seasoned to perfection and d covered with cheese. The chips & salsa were on point. The soda had that perfect carbonated burn we all like. By the end of our meal, I gathered that this place is where all the service guys lunch, business men & women bring clients to, retired folks make this a stop for a friendly smile. This place feels like home to the south community and im glad we stopped. Skylaar thank you for the impeccable service. We will see you soon. Happy New Year to you all!

This is an excellent restaurant with delicious, fresh food! Had the chicken fajitas. In addition, the waiter was very friendly and provided great service. There’s rewards program where one can earn points for continuous visits. Would recommend if you are in southwest Wichita.

The food is consistently good, always prepared the same way, unlike some other places where it depends on who’s working that day. The menu has a good variety and I love the salsa and the way they leave the bottles at the table so you can refill your bowl yourself. The chips are always fresh and the portions are generous. This is one of my top 3 Mexican dining places in Wichita.

I went to “Mexico Café Restaurante” thinking, you know… Mexico. Spanish. Maybe someone who understands the word agua. Silly me.
I ordered water in Spanish and was met with a completely blank stare — like I had just spoken ancient hieroglyphics. At a place with “Mexico” in the name, I didn’t think “agua” would be that complicated. Tacos are traditionally enjoyed with agua fresca, so it’s not exactly an unusual request.
Then the tacos. I ordered carnitas and got shredded, watery meat that looked like it belonged in a soup, not in a taco. Anyone who knows authentic carnitas knows they’re supposed to be tender with crispy edges — not soggy and swimming in liquid.
If you’re going to put “Mexico” in your name, at least serve tacos that resemble actual Mexican food… and maybe recognize the word “agua.”

Had never been here before my visit. Came hungry, ordered their all-you-can-eat Taco Tuesday, and severely underestimated the size of their tacos. Had both the beef and the chicken but ended up preferring the chicken. Left with a full belly and a very enjoyable experience.

I have been there several times to pick up food for delivery. The food has never once been ready when I arrived and the workers are always rude to me. I have been doing deliveries for over a year in 4 different states and I have never been treated like this before. I understand wanting to confirm that I am actually a driver and supposed to pick up the order, but not letting me touch the food so I can verify it is the right order is just beyond unnecessary. I have to confirm the order to be able to get the directions to where it gets delivered. Standing on top of me to watch me confirm the order does nothing but create tension and could cause me to miss something that is incorrect. It doesn’t prevent me from stealing the food if someone is going to steal the food after picking it up, standing on top of them while they are confirming the order doesn’t prevent that. I would never eat here because of the way I am treated every time I pick up food from here.

Schylaar our sever was very well mannered and always made sure our cups stayed full they were they never empty. He brought us extra napkins without asking him to. We will definitely will be going back to that place again to eat again soon. Please is very clean. Didn’t wait long for our food after we order. Got our drinks shortly after we ordered and after we ordered our food we got our food with in 10 minutes. Schylaar did a marvelous job he gets an A plus. Your food is a large order. Comes out hot and fresh. Yummy. Have a blessed day

The wife likes her “skinny” margaritas and the crew makes them to please! She really enjoys the “street” tacos, mine is the chimichanga, chilie verde inside and queso blanco over the outside. Yummy!
Their queso blanco dipping cheese is second to none in town.
We’ve been dining in El Mexico for years and it’s one of our favorite restaurants in town.

Food was so amazing, just the right amount of spice for heat. Our waiter was amazing and the restaurant was warm and inviting.
