Went their to celebrate my mom’s birthday. We enjoyed the ambiance and the service. Ordered bhindi, mix kababs, spicy n nonspicy chicken biryani with few appetizers. Bhindi was not that impressive, and I had couple of hard okra in my mouth, their garlic naans were also kind of hard instead of soft. Mix kababas were ok but biryani was outstanding.
Overall the food experience was average,

Food was delicious. Ambience was good and music was soothing.

But the drinks not so much… mango lassi was too sweet while Chennai express lacked the punch of tamarind.

Don’t go by the size of container the dishes are reasonably adequate portions.

If you are looking for some great Indian food, a restaurant with a beautiful ambiance, clean and tasteful decorations, friendly staff, reasonable prices and great location, then the Jewel of the crown is the place to be. We ordered several dishes they were all delicious, spiced well, fresh and well presented. They are located in the backside so you will have to walk around from the mall parking lot. I highly recommend this place.

First thing, it’s very confusing with the location of the restaurant on Google maps. You will have to park you car in the parking structure next to 7373 Scottsdale Park Palace mall. The restaurant is situated inside the mall. I liked the restaurant with good ambience and quality food for reasonable price. We had Naan and Shahi Paneer and it was really good. The mango lasso was not that awesome, yet tasty. It was quite busy when we came and we had to wait a while before getting seated, but that’s understandable. Restrooms are clean and covid protocol is followed as of now. So, I guess it’s all good. And I would say it’s a must try if you are in Scottsdale.

Avoid, Avoid, AVOID

Terrible service, terrible food, expensive price!

I love Indian food and have eaten in many Indian restaurants.
The onion bhaji where over cooked and without onions. Truly terrible.

The rice was minimal one small bowl for 3 main dishes and when asked for more they had to be reminded to bring it. But it came too late to be enjoyed with the meal.

Service was just poor.

4 beers, 2 appetizers, 3 mains and a Nann bread was $138 without tip. Expensive for what we received.

Rob recommends: Don’t go here.

Get the korma it was delicious. Pappadum with chutney was also good. Service was excellent, we enjoyed the patio. Will definitely return.

3.5 star for the food, it’s nice and clean, well seasoned, good taste. Interesting environment. They raised most the price on the menu, makes it kinda expensive.

Decent Indian cuisine but I’ve had better in Tempe. Service was very quick and the server was very kind. I didn’t like that the urinal was exactly next to the sink without any separation.

This is the worst Indian food I have eaten. Ordered biryani and it was so dry. It was more like fried rice. Absolutely disappointing. You can find chunks of white rice clumped together. The moment we saw so many empty tables, it was a sign something was not right but I was convincing myself to try. The place looks nice but what is the point if the food quality is so bad. The drinks were ok but the dish really ticked me off.

Food is good and decently priced compared to other Indian places in old town. Atmosphere is good. Outdoor seating isn’t possible in the winter since none of the heaters work. Cocktails are on the sweet side of my taste preference.
