Food was super delicous. When it comes to indian food, my bar is set high and this place exceeded it greatly. I started the dinner off with a mango lassi. I noticed that the mango lassi was from a product, perhaps they used a milk jug to hold a homemade lassi but nonetheless the lassi was really good and i usually cant drink lassis in general because of the texture but i could drink it today. I ordered the Mali cofta, chicken tikka masala, and the butter chicken i also ordered this one dry chicken dish but it had such a unique name i have forgotten the name unfortunately. The moli cofta was very tasty but lacked a bit of flavor although i think moli cofta is meant to have that herbally taste without much spice in it. Chicken tikka masala was by far my favorite, super creamy, had a lot of flavor, and had great spices. Butter chicken tasted similar but had slightly less spice and was a lot sweeter. The naan was perfectly cooked and tasted great. Defintly one of my favorite indian places here in SLO. Chicken would occasionally taste a little wierd but it wasnt to the point of concerning. Waiters were super nice and I highly recommend listening to their recommendations they know whats best.

To this day, I’m still surprised that this place isn’t as popular as Shalimar in town. Ever since we tried it, we haven’t gone to any other Indian restaurant in the area. There are two more Indian restaurants nearby, but Jewel of India, by far, has the best flavors. We visit regularly and have tried most of the menu items — none of them have disappointed us. The wait time can vary depending on how busy they are, but the flavors are always worth it.
I especially love the lunch and dinner specials, where you get to try small portions of multiple dishes. They also come with rice and naan at no extra charge. You can’t go wrong with any of their curry choices. The tandoori grills have excellent flavor, though the chicken breast can be a bit dry at times.
Overall, if you’re looking for authentic and flavorful Indian food — GO HERE!

Amazing food, and great service! Everyone is really kind and helpful. I have never had a bad meal from there. I get the food truck on Cal Poly campus at least once a day, when they’re here, sometimes twice (!) Because it is the best and only truly good food on campus.
I was having the worst day and the very kind man at the register gave me a chai tea and my day got so much better. All the workers are so nice and have given me great advice about living in SLO.
I love the rotating menu, it provides students with new food and it is always delicious! The samosas and chicken saag (spinach chicken) are my absolute favorites! (But everything is amazing) 10/10!

This Indian restaurant was good overall. The food quality was nice, although the naan & rotis could’ve been crisper, bubbly and crunchy rather than soft/soggy 🙁
The papri chaat dish was interestingly made, with ready made namkeen shakarpara! Although had a good balance of sweetness, tanginess also the generous portions.
The main course servings although a bit small was tasty.
We had ordered a thaali too and it was
Ok, tasting like homemade food. The paneer bhurji was particularly delicious. Overall, a good experience, yet with some room for improvements.
Will definitely try there again if I was around by that SLO area.

I discovered an authentic Punjabi restaurant in San Luis Obispo. The owner was incredibly kind and even treated us to a traditional Punjabi sweet called Pinni. We tried the Malai Kofta and Paneer Chilli—the spice level was just perfect! The food was amazing, and so was the chai.

This is my first time here and let me tell you the food is amazing. The tandoori chicken was juicy and flavorful and the garlic and cilantro naan was delicious. The regular rice was good so I imagine the chicken biryani must be great. Great food, nice service and a clean restaurant makes dinner here a must for authentic Indian food.

Wow! This is some of the best Indian food ever. Presentation, menu and spices are phenomenal. This is a must try spot that is just as good as LA area restaurants. Medium spice is great for those that like spicy food but are not looking for pain. I am not a big fan of Lassi in general, but it is the best drink to calm down the spicy food. Staff are nice and do their best to make service enjoyable for all.
There is a small parking lot but plenty of tables inside. SLO students come here often.

My husband surprised me with a beach trip for my birthday and this was his first stop. Knowing how much I love Indian food, he put in some research. I’m so glad he found this gem! Some of the best authentic food I’ve had. My favorite was the bhindi. Can’t rave enough about it. It’s always my go-to but this stuff was so fresh and full of flavor, not over cooked and sad like a lot of places I’ve had. I believe it was the owner who had sent us on our way after with a very sweet birthday gift. Wonderful place, wonderful service. 1000% recommend. Only downside, I’ll be driving 2+ hours when the craving hits. Lol
