Jewel of India started with the simple idea of bringing the best from us to you. In 1992, Balbir & Surjit started this business to fulfill the cravings of Upper Valley. Our dedicated team of seven works hard to transport the dynamic cuisine of Indian subcontinent-whole palette of flavors- to ensure a titillating food experience. We always have an amazing time here and seek it out each time we’re in the area, yesterday was no exception. Delicious food, friendly owners, clean bright building, immaculate restrooms. The chai tea was the best I’ve ever had. House special bread was also incredible.

Absolutely delicious food! If you love Indian food, then you’ll love this place. The only reason I am rating it lower is because it took about 1.5 hours to get our food. This wasn’t a huge problem, but be aware if time is an issue for you. Their chicken tikka massala is really delicious. I also ate their mango ice cream e which was really tasty.

This is a great gem in Hanover. I ate at Jewel of India in 2018 with my Aunt and Uncle and it was fantastic. The goat vindaloo had the rib meat falling off of the bone and amazing flavor. By far the best eat for South Indian food I have had apart from homemade.

I have had several meals here and all have been tasty and satisfying. Great portions for the price, sometimes enough leftovers for lunch the next day. My favorites are the Onion Kulcha, Paneer Kulcha, Chicken La-Jawab, and Chicken Shahi Korma. I’ve also heard from friends that the mango lassi is good. Once you find your favorite dishes, it’s hard to resist! Take-out and delivery are pretty fast. If you dine-in, they bring you to a table, but you scan the QR code on the table and order and pay from your phone. Then they bring the food when ready and you just leave when you’re done. The tables and the restaurant itself is clean as well. Additionally, if you download the Snackpass app, you can see pictures of every single menu item which is helpful if you aren’t sure what something is. Pictures and online ordering are also available on their Square website which is linked on their main website. Would recommend!

I would certainly not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The curries had watery consistency, lacked flavor on the whole. The naan’s were undercooked. The chicken biryani had raw chicken pieces.

If you are looking for Indian food in the Upper Valley your options are slim. This place offers the fix for those in search of the flavorful and spicy traditional dishes at a reasonable price. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating as well as takeout. Service was ok. It is located right off the beaten path in Hanover with plenty of street parking to be found.
