Finally!!! A good, family owned place to get hand dipped ice cream in Catonsville! They use South Mountain creamery and it is so good. The ice cream is thick and creamy. They have several different flavors, including sorbet and dairy free. The chocolate peanut butter and cold brew coffee were really good. My kids enjoyed birthday cake – plus they loved the color! It is standing room only inside to order, but there are tables outback to sit and enjoy. Street parking can be tough during peak times, but there is a free lot outback. Owners are friendly and accommodating. If you love hand dipped ice cream, this is a much try place!!!

Attached to Pat’s Porch and delightfully welcoming, Catonsville Scoops is the perfect location after enjoying one of the many local restaurants on Frederick Road. Great for post sports or even just an evening destination stroll. Offering a lovely array of delicious hand scooped ice-cream flavors in a cup or a cone, you can also get tasty milkshakes and sundaes. Behind the store you can sit and enjoy your ice cream treat at the picnic tables. I highly recommend the grasshopper ice-cream.

The service here is always great and the ice cream is always good. BUT they changed the recipe for Peanut butter Dreams and it’s not the same. It was my favorite ice cream and have been raving about it since I had it last year, so it’s pretty disappointing. I hope they change it back.

Wonderful and simple scoop shop right on Frederick Road! In the land of a thousand snowballs, it’s weirdly hard to find scooped ice cream and this place fits perfectly! They carry South Mountain creamery, it’s really delightful, natural tasting ice cream from MD. Great service, lovely area out back to sit, cold drinks, kid and dog friendly.
