THE HOLY GRAIL OF PIZZA – I finally found it!
After all of these years of searching and in all of the places that I have lived and been – New York City, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Beverly Hills, San Diego, Dallas, Austin, Charlotte, Washington, D.C., every chain brand, and even in Italy where I had the famous “viagra pizza” (see previous post), I have never had pizza so good!
Everything about it – the cheese, the sauce, and most of all, the crust! Check out how thick this crust is. In itself it’s so delicious you could eat it separately.

For years, nothing could beat the taste of a childhood favorite. When I was a young boy in Connecticut, my parents used to take us to a little independent pizza place in Westport or Fairfield that had big square pizzas. So tasty. I can still smell that crust and dough! When I went back to find it years later, there was a damned aromatherapy or foo foo shop there. So, The search went on. And on.

I hereby declare that Jet’s Pizza in northern Virginia* is the Holy Grail of Pizza!
I have had many slices of pizza in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, north end of Boston, Italian section of Philadelphia, all over Chicago, all kinds of cities large and small, etc. and none of them can match this. I am not kidding!

I received my delivery today, and I’m wondering if something happened at the store. I’ve always enjoyed your food, and the wings have always been really delicious. But the wings I ordered today were completely burnt—you could tell just by looking at them. Why would you send something like this? The dipping sauce was also missing. It feels like there was a lack of common sense. I’m really frustrated.

The Detroit Style was the target for me. I love the fact that you can order a 4 corner or 8 corner, which is actually 2- 4 corner pizzas. This gives 4 or 8 slices, all corners. Dough is tasty and fresh with a crispy flavorful crust and light interior texture. The sauce is a little sweet with good tomato flavor and spice. The cheese was nice with mild taste and good texture. The well done cheese crusted sides (2) were excellent! I did not do toppings but they were visually appealing and looked fresh. The crew were very helpful and friendly. They offered suggestions and made inquiries about options. I very much enjoyed this pizza and place it in the top Detroit styles to date. I look forward to trying other styles as I LOVE pizza. I will be revisiting for sure. Price is competitive for quality/quantity. This is a definite recommend! There are a couple locations, check for closest locations.

It’s nice to have options in a town that is not known for being very food diverse; we are known as Little Korea for a damn good reason, and we have the best of the best here, and we are very proud of it, but I digress. This is a mid-level pizza option at best.
When we first tried their pizza shortly after they opened, we were pleasantly surprised, but our last order was just not good. The crust was not good, the flavor was very bland, and it was just very underwhelming.
I would eat their pizza again if someone treated me to it and I didn’t have a say in the choice, but there’s nothing that makes me want to go out of my way to have it again.
They do have coupon fliers, btw, so if you do decide to go here, make sure you ask for the specials, but definitely don’t pay full price for this.

If you’re going to be getting a pizza from Jet’s make sure it is one of their deep dishes! The deep dishes are really good, highly recommend, I will say the other pizzas like the thin crust aren’t worth it.
The staff is friendly and the place is clean. There were 8 people working on Saturday night and it looked like a well oiled machine.
Spoke to the owner briefly and he has an interesting story moving from Michigan to start this franchise here in Nova.
I haven’t tried the wings there but they look good as I watched them box up some orders.
Oh also the ranch is good, I think it’s home made not some hidden valley stuff.
I highly recommend the deep dish pizzas at Jet’s Pizza

I normally go to Underground Pizza in Bmore for my deep dish Chicago style pizza however I did some searching for a place near where I was & stumbled onto this gem. I had the deep dish veggie pizza. Yassssss & I will be back again. It is definitely on my list for my favorite go-to place to eat. I ordered online/ carry-out.

I don’t believe I’ve ever had such devastatingly bland pizza in my life. I had a four corner cheese pizza to go and was really excited to try it out. The pie itself looks very delicious actually, but the pizza itself barely carries much flavor apart from the sauce. The cheese adds very little to the experience and that’s probably the worst of it.
I was told that it would probably taste better with meat, but the flavor profile of pizza shouldn’t be reliant on it’s topping. This pizza was so disappointing.

This has become a nee favorite for us. Just recently discovered when we were looking for Detroit pizza in the area. Wish it was a little closer to our place to be within delivery range, but it’s so good we make the trip to go get it. If you haven’t been before, just know that there is no dine in, just carry out or delivery. Staff is friendly and customer oriented too. This is our nee favorite for pizza.

Heard about JET Pizza through social media and wanted to give it a try. My partner and I are HUGE lovers of Detroit style pizza and we wanted to try it since everyone was raving about it.
Those rave reviews must have been paid for though because the pizza is just ‘okay’ at best. Compared to other Detroit style pizza’s in the area this would definitely rank the lowest of the places we’ve gone to.
Redrock in old town still has some of the best Detroit pizza in this area hands down and I’d recommend going there if you want truly delicious pizza. No fault to JET though, their pizza isn’t bad, but it’s not great by any means — way too much hype.
Their customer service was solid however and there wasn’t a wait to pick up our order.
Overall not bad pizza but nothing special. Once was good enough for us.

Best pizza I’ve had in years–Detroit-style deep dish. Only available as pickup or delivery. Check for coupons online since they’re slightly pricey… worth it though.
