The food reminded us of steam table ‘all you can eat’ selections.
Perhaps they were off their game this night, but I don’t think so.
We hoped for fresh and real Middle Eastern food from such a highly rated restaurant.
Not for us. Your miles may vary.
I should’ve ordered falafel or hummus instead.
When ordering to-go for a party of four, I asked in the online notes (“Please send enough sauce for 4 people”). We only received 2 sauce,
This is more than a simple oversight; it shows a lack of attention to detail and training in the kitchen/packaging area.
When I called the restaurant to express my disappointment, the manager simply apologized and promised to handle my next order personally. While I appreciate the gesture, the solution shouldn’t be for the manager to do the job of the staff. The solution is to train your people better so that the service reliably matches the quality of the food.
For future customers: If you are ordering takeout, especially for a group, call ahead and re-confirm every detail, because you cannot rely on the staff to follow instructions, even if they are written down.
I hope this consistent issue with order accuracy is fixed, as it significantly detracts from an otherwise fantastic dining experience.
This isn’t a traditional sit-down restaurant with table service ,it’s more of a casual, self-service setup. You place your order at the counter, pick it up when your number is called, and grab anything else you need yourself. While that might not be everyone’s preference, the quality of the food more than makes up for it.
One of the highlights was the attached bakery and store. We couldn’t leave without trying the baklava and coconut cake both were to die for. In fact, they were so good that I didn’t even get a chance to snap a photo before they disappeared from the table!
The restaurant is clean, inviting, and filled with delicious aromas and unique items in the store section that are worth browsing. Despite being self-service, this place is absolutely worth a visit for anyone craving authentic Middle Eastern cuisine.
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the self-service format. Still, Jerusalem Restaurant and Bakery is a gem, and I highly recommend it!
