The line wasn’t long ahead of me.
This happened on 01/25/2026. It was the closing shift.
Today, after placing his usual order, xxx received a different sandwich. When he brought this to the attention of the employee at the register, she insisted that the order was correct. xxx politely explained that it was not and requested that the correct sandwich be made. At that point, he had not eaten or tampered with the sandwich beyond unwrapping it.
The employee responded that she could make another sandwich, but he would have to pay for it. xxx stated that he would not pay for another sandwich and asked that either the correct sandwich be made or his money refunded. The employee then refunded his purchase, rather than correcting the order.
This response was disappointing and unprofessional. Instead of resolving the issue in a customer-focused manner, the employee chose to issue a refund as if to make a point, leaving xxx without a meal while the rest of us ate. This created an uncomfortable situation for our group and reflected poorly on the establishment’s approach to customer service.
When I asked the employee for her name, she identified herself as Riley. When I then requested the manager’s name, she stated that she was the manager. It is especially concerning that a person in a managerial position handles a simple order mix-up in such a dismissive and confrontational manner.
