Second visit today and bought the jerk catfish and oxtail. Only ate the for dinner. Taking the oxtail to work tomorrow. The jerk catfish didn’t disappoint but the steaks were rather thin. No vinegar jerk sauce this time so I guess somebody is reading the reviews or they just forgot to put it in the bag because I didn’t get any which is fine. I’ll be back.

I’ve been living in NW Indiana for years and have always traveled outside the area to find some good jerk cuisine, and driven past this too many times to mention because from the outside it looks like it’s closed down or not getting business, but ohhhh how I was SO WRONG! this place is a diamond in the rough. As soon as I got out my truck I was met with the hypnotizing aroma of some good jerk! lol!.
I entered the facility somewhat skeptical but upon entering I was surprised beyond belief. This place has a nice sized bar, flatscreens to watch the games, plenty of seating, and it’s spacious. I was going to take photos of the interior but I didn’t want to seem like I was being weird.
The food was definitely on point. I ordered, what I thought was a jerk and combo, but instead got jerk and brown stewed , jerk rib-tips, and the jerk pasta with Maybe there was a communication error when I was ordering but oh well! My dishes came with rice and beans, cabbage, corn, and candied yams…and all of it was FIE! NOT ! (like the youngin’s like to say), but FIE!. The only thing I’d say that was a no-go for my food what the jerk sauce. It tasted too much like vinegar, it was too loose and not thick like I’m used to from other jerk establishments, and didn’t pair well with my food. They need to work on that. If the sauce was on point and they had the sweet plantains they most definitely would’ve got the 5 ⭐️ award. I keep walkerswood and other jerk seasonings on hand so making my own jerk sauce isn’t an issue. I’ll be back though. There’s too much that I haven’t tried yet on the menu.

The plate speaks for itself but I’ll offer some context. I’m visiting from California and saw this spot on the way to my hotel. When trying a new Jamaican place I start with the Jerk Chicken because, well, if that ain’t right there’s no sense in me spending oxtail money.
The chicken was AMAZING. Moist, flavorful and plenty of food. I managed to wait 3 days to come back and this time I door dashed it for pick up. The food was ready quick and the service both times was professional and fast.
Babeee, when I got back to my hotel it was ON. This please represents a little under 1/2 of the meal.
One order could easily feed two people.
Every side was spot on. I had cabbage, rice and peas, plantains, and yams.
I’ll be back.
P.S. Door Dash pick up doesn’t let you tip in the app so do the right thing and tip the team.

Food here is DELICIOUS! 😀 Doesn’t look crazy from the outside, but it is very nice inside with a cozy vibe and modern look. Interior and bathrooms were very clean, and we were severed quickly. People were friendly (and patient) and the drinks were good! Will definitely be coming back here!

I had an amazing experience dining in at Jerk N Hot. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff was friendly and welcoming, especially the waitresses, who made me feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious fresh, hot, and full of flavor. You can tell everything was made with care and attention to detail. The music added a fun and lively vibe to the restaurant, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a good meal. It really enhanced the overall experience. I tried a few different dishes, and everything I ordered was cooked perfectly. The portion sizes were generous, and the flavors were bold and authentic. I can honestly say this is one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite or a sit-down meal with friends or family, Jerk N Hot is a place I’d highly recommend. I’ll definitely be back. 10/10!

Ordered on 8/7 initially I went in for 1/2 chicken mixed only then the cashier suggested that I get a meal instead that would be cheaper so she rang it up and it wasn’t in my budget so I asked her to keep it only at chicken she calls the manager whom has an attitude that she has to come up. She removes the meal and I tell her chicken only when the cashier got back on the register she added cabbage on which I did not ask her to do but I didn’t want the manager to have to come up again because she was very rude to the cashier about it the first time. Ok I wait for my order get it and the chicken looks really undercooked and the cabbage was very wilted it didn’t give Jamaican cabbage at all. I take it back in, place it on the counter and open to show the manager she immediately grabs it looks at it and tosses it in the trash and rudely says “we don’t cook our chicken like other places we broil it and we don’t cook it well done so what else do you want?” I’m not sure where it’s legal to sell medium rare chicken but I informed her that I didn’t like her attitude and would like a refund. She seemed taken aback as if no one has ever stood up to her nasty attitude. I demanded a refund and she told me I would have to dispute it because she “can’t access her system”. So this establishment participates in FRAUD. Because I’ve disputed it and it was over turned. Not only that when I left the establishment she followed me to my car not sure what she was trying to do but I still haven’t been refunded. Hopefully the owner see this and reaches out if not I’ll be up there with the cops to retrieve my funds since you guys like to steal. IF I COULD LEAVE ZERO STARS I WOULD! Forgot to take pics of the nasty cabbage.

I’ve given this restaurant more than one time and I’ve been disappointed. I’ve been into pickup and I’ve had delivery as well. But overall the food Mac n cheese looks good but it’s tasteless. The salad was withered and the cucumbers were no good and they had the nerve to be spreaded on top. The Green Beans were straight from the can with added seasoning. The Yams were from the can with added seasonings. My wings were old and dried out. Rice and Beans were ok. I deserved freshness for the prices. Oh and the portions suck. If they serve the proper portions, the men the food won’t go bad. I can not continue to spend my money at this establishment.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere and my server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the wings lunch special with cabbage and plantains, the cabbage wasn’t seasoned enough for me, the plantains were yummy and the chicken wings although they were little like a Cornish hen wing they were delicious. Now the drinks are fire, I ordered the liquid marijuana and let’s just say I felt like I smoked some Mary Jane…what Rick James say “ I love you Mary Jane” I felt like I was Smokey from Friday locked in Deebo’s chicken coop . Seriously please try the signature cocktails . Overall rating 8/10 ❤️ My visit occurred during the weekday at 12:30pm.

Our first time there. We made a trip to Chicago, on the way back we stopped in Merrillville to eat. We googled for food and found Jerk n Go. The food was amazing! We ordered in and some to go back home with us. The jerk catfish and jerk tilapia was delicious. The yams, mac n cheese and cabbage all had great flavor. Definitely will go again! Our waitress was wonderful to work with!

First time here. This place had really good jerked wings & the dark chicken dinner was excellent with yams, Mac & Cheese & beans & rice. I didn’t care for the tacos at all & I thought it was a bit pricey. I will definitely go back for the chicken dinner, wings & I want to try the jerked fish next trip. The two young ladies at the counter were really nice, I left a cash tip for my to go order. They have a nice size bar that looks like a good chill spot for a game with some drinks & wings.

Placed an online order for curry chicken and curry goat for pickup. Recieved a text confirming order would be ready at 6:04 pm. Got there at 6:02. Walked in they asked my name is told them and they said would be a couple of minutes. Sat there for 25 minutes watched many orders be given out. Sitting 8 feet from the front desk. Went up to front desk and they said “oh we cancelled that order we out of goat and the plantains”. Me “Why didn’t you text me call me tell me when i got here and sat for 25 minutes” them: “Sorry we out of what you ordered” the worst service I have ever recieved and the counter staff seemed pissed at me when I asked them how long were they going to let me sit there before telling me? (I was the only person waiting). Unprofessional and rude. Never again
