Visiting from Canada and wow… Jefe’s Mexican Restaurant absolutely blew us away.
I had the ribeye steak with vegetables and every bite was perfect. So flavorful, beautifully cooked, and genuinely delicious. I cleaned my plate, jalapeños and all.
With so many Mexican food options in Chandler, this is by far our family’s favorite. If you’re local or just passing through like us, don’t miss this place. So, so good.

This was out first time there and I had a stressful morning, so I was looking forward to relaxing at lunch. First, our waitress was so nice and of course very attentive. I wanted to recognize her but I didn’t get her name. (We were there on 9/17/25.) A lot of great food choices and we were both very happy with the food and so much so we will be back to try it again!

Our experience at Jefe’s was outstanding from beginning to end. We were seated quickly and within moments delivered chips, salsa, and drinks. The initial salsa was a little watery, but then our server suggested the salsa verde when my husband asked for something spicier. The salsa verde had a nice tang and delicious subtle smokey flavor, and the heat built up but was definitely present. We got the jalapeño rangoons to start, and those were fantastic.
For entrees my husband got the birria burrito, which was so good he insisted I try some. The consomme was perfect and the meat was super tender. My daughter got the pastor street tacos, which she really enjoyed. I tried the cod taco and the Korean bulgolgi taco, and I honestly don’t know which was better. The cod was crisp and hot and the bulgolgi was that perfect blend of savory with a slight sweetness. The mini churros for dessert were super fresh and some of the best we’ve ever had.
Our server, David P, was so friendly and kind. He is the kind of server that makes a good experience into a great one. This is the kind of place where everything on the menu sounds so good you want to change your order the next time you visit, but at the same time what you ordered is so delicious you are tempted to just go with that again!

I came on a Saturday night and it was pretty chill. The Bartender was great and the food was okay. The salsa wasn’t great – it was very watery which was disappointing but I’d come again to try something else.

I recently had dinner here and found the experience to be a mixed bag. While the ambiance was nice and created a pleasant setting for the evening, the overall experience left much to be desired.
The service was slow—we had to wait 15-20 minutes just to get glasses for water, which was frustrating. The food itself was mediocre at best and definitely didn’t justify the high prices. For the cost, I expected better flavors and presentation.
It’s a decent spot if you’re looking for a good vibe.

What a great find! We were staying st. A near by hotel and yet traveling all day. The food was very tasty. We started with the 3 chip combo and got the guacamole, poblano queso and green salsa. Our conch comment was there was. It much flavor to the guacamole. The other two were perfect with just the rick amount of spice. We enjoy spicy food. We also got the birria mini chimichanga appetizer, the Asian/Birria complete and the smothered burrito. The portion sizes were large and we were able to get 2 meals with our left overs. Service was great. Our server chatted with us and kept our waters filled and our food came out piping hot. We stay at the local hotels regularly and this will be a must do for us.

I would love to tell you how the food was but I never got to that point. On a Friday at 12:30 there was only one waitress which resulted in waiting at our table for 15mins with no contact. During those 15 mins I watched one table leave due to no service and another table seat themselves after no contact from an employee. Needless to say, while the food on the menu looked good, I opted to leave as the service wasnt picking up.

Haven’t found many places in Ocotillo worth spending time writing a review for, but this place was really good! The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I especially liked the Birria burrito this time around. Highly recommend. Staff is very attentive as well. Wish I had enough left in me to try some dessert. We got a free dessert coupon for next time, though. If you like good Mexican food with some twists, give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Was excited to make it my Go To restaurant but didn’t live up to expectations. Staff was disheveled at best. Couldn’t tell if understaffed or new staff. Not busy at all. Got to go and acted like I hadn’t ordered, sat at bar and felt like I was not welcome. Wings were good. Rest was……. Good luck
