We had a surprise 80th birthday luncheon for my mother 8 years ago at Jeannie’s Place. Everything was wonderful! Make sure you call for reservations. If you call early enough, Jeannie will even let you make a menu request! We requested chicken salad sandwiches and salads and I was even able to help decide the pie flavors for the day. Eight years later we are going back to celebrate my Mom’s 88th birthday. I’ll post pictures afterwards! Jeannie asked what I wanted the menu to be that day . . .this time we requested fried chicken, chocolate pie and coconut creme pie!

Jeannie fixed a home made meal and served it family style. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy. Everything was delicious including the home made cherry pie! Thanks Jeannie for a wonderful evening.

A Charming Hideaway with Delicious Homemade Breakfast!
From a thunderstorm, I stumbled upon a hidden gem of a restaurant that turned out to be a delightful surprise. Tucked away in a cute little house, this charming establishment offered a cozy shelter from the rain and an incredible homemade breakfast experience.

As I entered the restaurant, the warm and inviting ambiance immediately captured my attention. The rustic decor, complete with wooden furnishings and vintage accents, created a homely atmosphere that instantly made me feel comfortable.

From toast bread to crispy bacon and perfectly cooked eggs, every bite was a burst of flavor that exceeded my expectations. The ingredients were clearly fresh and thoughtfully prepared, reflecting the care and attention to detail put into each plate.

What truly stood out, though, was the owner’s hospitality. She welcomed me with a genuine smile, making me feel like an old friend rather than a random customer seeking shelter from the storm. Her warm demeanor and helpful suggestion to call ahead for future visits showcased her dedication to providing excellent service.
Overall, my experience at this adorable house-turned-restaurant was nothing short of delightful. From the inviting atmosphere to the mouthwatering homemade breakfast and the friendly owner, it was an experience I won’t soon forget. Whether you’re looking for a cozy brunch spot or simply a place to take shelter during inclement weather, this hidden gem is definitely worth a visit.

Oh my goodness. Heard about this place 50 miles away from my niece in Denver.
Went on a Tuesday to capture fried chicken, mashed potatoes and chicken gravy, glazed carrots, cucumber salad, church basement marshmallow apple salad and chocolate meringue pie.
Roll and butter of course.
Jeannie and her helper, the other diners and the “welcome to my dining room” atmosphere just added to the experience.
I am already planning my next trip.

Love this cute little diner. It is in the spacious dining room addition to Jeannie’s house. She makes one specific meal every day, and they are all spectacular. Very reasonably priced food, served in courses and topped off with generous servings of pie and coffee. Loved my experience and am looking forward to going there again!

We had the Tues special… fried chicken, real mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet carrots, creamy cucumber salad and the best ever peach custard pie.
We’ll be going back to this place but calling ahead first. Home cooking at its finest in a small town.

What a delightful hidden Nebraska gem! The homey atmosphere, friendly conversation with lovely people, and delicious home cooking made for a well-worthwhile 2-hour round trip from Unadilla to Lewiston. I had a wonderful time with my family there! Thank you, Jeannie!
