Tonight was our first visit to J&D’s Steakhouse and we have plans for another visit soon. I ordered the Chicken fried steak with mixed vegetables, and fully loaded baked potato and it was pretty good. The only down side was the chicken fried steak was heavily seasoned and a little smaller than im use to but other then that it was really good.

My daughter ordered carne Asad fries which I had a few bites of and it was really good and full of flavor and not over spiced.

The service was very good and kept making sure our drinks were filled. They were also very knowledgeable about how the food is prepared and this was a major plus due to a few food allergies in our party.

The restaurant was very clean and we really like the little town feel to the ambiance.

Only thing I would suggest is that they serve freshly made dinner rolls which I think would be an option everyone would love even if they charged a little more for the rolls.

We are looking forward to trying other items on our next visit.

J&D’s Steakhouse — Comfort Food Done Right in Sallisaw

Stopped in at J&D’s Steakhouse and was impressed from start to finish. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with loaded mashed potatoes and mac & cheese, plus a side of pickled peppers everything tasted homemade and fresh.

The chicken was golden, crispy, and tender under that creamy white gravy. The mashed potatoes were loaded perfectly with bacon and cheese, and the mac & cheese hit that rich, classic flavor. The pickled peppers were a nice touch tangy, spicy, and cut through the richness just right.

Service was quick and friendly, and the place has that small-town charm with a clean, welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a solid spot in Sallisaw for comfort food and hearty portions.

They were busy when we arrived at 6pm, but were seated within 2 minutes. We didn’t have to wait too long for our orders to be filled. The portions were large and the food freshly cooked. The ribeye was very thin and grilled longer than asked for, but was delicious. Very nice atmosphere. They serve alcohol. Waitress was very attentive and kept our drinks filled.

I’m giving a 5 star review! This place was so clean, that’s the 1st thing I notice when walking in to a restaurant. We had the sweetest young lady as our waitress, she was very informative of the menu and specials. We were waited on promptly, had our meals in a timely fashion. I had the 10 Oz sirloin and my husband had the ribeye…both cooked to perfection!!! And quite tasty, if I might add!!! Salad was made with fresh veggies, and baked sweet potato with brown sugar and cinnamon was to die for! Reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!!!

Was good, the wait took forever our waitress was to busy talking to her friend at the bar and was very loud. Theres a bar in there so the loudness makes sense. But overall was good place to eat. Will go again just request a different waitress if able.

Although they can (sometimes) be a bit slow, they have the best salad in Sallisaw.

The environment is comfortable and the women working there feel the same way, I’ve never had a rude or overly enthusiastic waitress. They keep the TV’s all on different channels and my kids & I are always caught by at least one of them. (Usually AFV, short and funny is always a winner) This night they struggled persistently to get it to the game my uncle was watching on his phone and I loved how genuine and family friendly it felt.

This is also my go-to place for business lunches. They don’t have the room or any set up for it to be great for meetings but I like it for one on ones and semi-casual small groups. Sometimes these can be lengthy and they’ve always been both respectful and attentive when we stay well after our foods been taken. The quality across the menu is consistent but there’s a variety of choices so there’s never disappointment.

You can’t call yourself a steakhouse if you serve a New York strip that’s 10 ounces with 6 ounces of fat and 1/4 thick and the loaded baked potato didn’t have enough dairy so it was dry. Our first visit was much better all around with better service and food.

My visit to J&D’s was great! On a Tuesday afternoon with a steady flow of people dining, our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The Cowtown Drip sandwich was excellent and more than enough food. The prices are also very reasonable. Hope to return on a future visit to Sallisaw.

I want to preface this by saying I like this place. The people and atmosphere are great and I love that. The drinks are great as is “most” of the food. I hope they will read this and take my recommended action. My only complaint and its a big one is I ordered a ribeye steak medium rare. What I got looked like a carna asada at a Mexican restaurant. It was razor thin so much in fact I had no idea how it was cooked. Also it was 40% fat…almost inedible. With this said please get a real ribeye ya know maybe an inch or inch and a quarter thick. I’ll even teach you how to cook it! I am flabbergasted at how they could serve such a thing. I ended up just putting it in a box and my mastiff loved it. I am attaching a picture of a rib eye I cooked and yes I like it rare to medium rare. Guys ya gotta fix this. With all said I will go back cause its such a cool place…just not to eat a steak!
