I was a first timer & the cashier was very thorough & super friendly! He explained the menu to me & how things work so that I would not be confused about anything. I didn’t have a single question by the time he finished explaining.
I had the four piece wings with mac & cheese & fried cabbage. The wings were pretty good. The mac & cheese was very, very, very cheesy. For some, that may be a good thing, for me, it wasn’t so great. It was so thick. The cabbage was not that great compared to what I’m used to. It is the flavor. I’m not sure how to even explain it.
The prices are good! I will be back because there are other things on the menu that I’d like to try.

I was referred by a coworker and when I called in first to ask questions, I was greeted and treated with the upmost hospitality. I got the oxtail balls (never had this before) and might I say that was the most flavorful, filling balls I’ve ever tasted! The honey hot chicken … wheww, if I knew the chicken was so big and the potions were as hefty, I truly only needed two wings with my balls! Oh and under the wings are packed with fries and veggies.
Bottom line, this is a nice treat, with nice portions and definitely worth to treat yourself every now and again!!

Honestly I would give JDs Food Box a 10! This was the ABSOLUTE best food ever! The collard greens were cooked to perfection along with the turkey meat OMG!! The customer service was spectacular!! The catfish was well seasoned and big! Pork chops were big, juicy, and delicious ! My wife couldn’t finish the other one ! The custom made dirty south peach tea and the twisted blueberry was delectable! But the OK CARRIBEAN OXTAIL BALLS……..first of all they were the size of softballs ! The taste was………..I’m at a lost for words. The candy yams were homemade, the red beans were excellent. I highly recommend to come to JDs Food Box! I give this place a 10!!!!! Please come and support this business! You won’t be disappointed especially those who love soul food!!

It was by happenstance that we were in the neighborhood and needed a place to eat. I saw this spot had 4.9 stars on Google and thought, it must be good, restaurants rarely get ratings that high.
When we arrived to order, it was immediately clear we’d found a gem. There was a line ahead of us, but everyone looked excited to get their grub on. The restaurant itself was small, clean, and nicely decorated. The staff were hardworking and lovely, and you could see the kitchen in action, where all the magic was happening.
We did have a long wait, but that was on us. This is a small, popular establishment, so definitely order ahead. Lesson learned! Still, I’m not mad about it, good things come to those who wait, and the food was absolutely worth it. Everything was fresh and full of flavor.I don’t even live near this restaurant, but I’ll definitely be back and next time, I’ll order ahead. Hats off to the chef and staff!
P.S. We ordered the fried ribs with a side of mac ’n’ cheese, red beans and rice, chicken fried rice, banana pudding, and the chocolate dream dessert. It was all incredible, but the highlight was definitely the ribs (so much flavor!) and the desserts, both were outstanding!

My first time ever trying soul food it was totally worth it. Forgot to ask the name of the chef and the person to serve me. That’s a mistake on my end but excellent customer service and knowledgeable too. I live like 40 minutes away, but I’ll come through again cocktail and the pecan eggroll was fire. Love the chicken and the shrimp too.

The food here is great & the receptionist/cashier was extremely nice! I drove 40 mins just to come try it out and definitely plan to start coming on the weekends! I order the chicken wing boil box 10/10 (lemon pepper and hot honey lemon pepper – I asked for the wings to be separated from the boil) and the Soul 4 Real egg rolls 8/10! Can’t wait to try more!

I enjoy talking to the owners/chefs. I loved hearing their journey. The food is rich and full of soulful flavors. I like how the chef has different specials that include other ethic foods, and they add soul food touch. Their regular menu is amazing as well. I’m grateful they are right down the road so I can get some home cooking meals.
