The Mac is terrible, it’s old and tastes like chicken bouillon. The potato greens are extremely spicy and watery. Pretty expensive for 0 quality. The lady was very friendly and helpful, that was the best part of the entire thing.

It is very seldom that I leave a review or comment but IT WOULD BE SELFISH OF ME TO NOT SHARE THIS GOOD OL’ FOOD. The soul food is bomb, I had the Cheese steak rolls, Cabbage, and butter corn) and the African food was just how I like it , a little spice but not to much to were I couldn’t not enjoy it (Potato Greens and Rice). If you are in the 69th street, Darby, south west area and have not tried JC Afrosoul food, then Please get there now !!!! First time I went was the best oxtails and jerk chicken I had in the area and the cook was a lady. 2nd time I went spent $60 for food I could have made myself. Mac and cheese was hard, yams could only taste cinnamon, oxtails poorly seasoned with no gravy over white rice. Jerk chicken wasn’t even jerked just baked chicken. Only going if the lady is there.

Kitchen was very dirty and when i arrived the cook was eating chicken wings with his hands all messy and wiped his hands on his pants and continued to cook my food also he poured way to much butter on the mussels I felt sick after eating I would like a refund also way to salty too much seasoning

Although the atmosphere was nice and the service was friendly the food for me was terrible. Nothing like they advertised. The egg roll was burnt and chewy, the wings were small and bland, they put seafood salad in the same platter with hot food, I can’t even highlight anything good about their food. It was a big disappointment for me. And it was overpriced. The seafood salad wasn’t even homemade. Omg I could rant and rave all day about this place. Now I don’t know about the upper Darby location but the one they just opened in folcroft is terrible. Sorry not sorry

Food is okay not really all that definitely doesn’t look like what’s shown in the other photos when I got there it wasn’t even a chef , and I could see them microwaving premade food … the chef was some guy in a ski mask who was smoking weed my food was okay didn’t taste like anything the Mac and cheese is okay it’s not that good to waste your money on yams are good could be better sweet but not as sweet as they should be and the oxtails don’t even taste like anything … not enough seasoning and they need a chef because I don’t know what was going on …

Nahiem provided excellent service he did everything he could to satisfy us! The oxtails were tough you could not bite them let alone chew them. They reheat them in the microwave which is a big no no and the owner refused to refund our money or replace them with something else.
