I’ve lived in Portland for over 17yrs and easiest way to say this is, Everything on my plate was the best I’ve ever had since I’ve moved here from San Antonio Texas. Totally Awesome, top your food off with the best Sweet Tea too. I will definitely keep coming back.

This place is the best! My boyfriend is from St Louis and whenever I had visited him we would go to this place called sugarfire bbq. I’ve been trying to find a place that sells bbq like them and I finally found it. The rib meat is literally falling off the bone. It’s delicious. I don’t care for their signature sauce (it tastes to apple saucey to me) but their KC bbq sauce is delicious. Thanks for the awesome food and service!!

Great food, good service and reasonable price. The meats are tender and prepared dry, no sauce you add your own to your taste. I had sliced brisket, pulled pork and ribs. Some of the best meats I’ve had in a restaurant. Sauces were a little thin and not robust enough for me.
Favorite was the Carolina Sauce.
Sides were really good. We had mac an cheese, beans, Cole slaw and collard greens and all were really good.
Definately come back. Good BBQ is hard to find.

Great BBQ! I’ve been looking for a good BBQ place since my local one closed. Went to another place that was all fluff and no taste. This Jazzy John’s though fits the bill! Great food, had the combo 1 with Mac and Cheese and Chili, the sauces had good flavor (spicy could have been a bit spicier but I know have to try not to go overboard).
The gentleman at the counter was very nice, asked how we were doing a couple times. Portions were generous and I loved that the Ribs weren’t pre slathered in sauce and fell right off the bone! The brisket and pulled pork we’re great, pulled pork had great flavor and the brisket was sliced nice and thick instead of the typical BBQ place that slices to thin to satisfy.
All in all I look forward to coming back, great homey feel, authentic BBQ and nice people.

Courteous staff, friendly atmosphere as well. Food choices were fairly substantial for a smaller restaurant. Signature BBQ sauce was very good, many other flavour options as well. Odd that they serve RC Cola and not Coke or Pepsi, though it is no big deal. A potential for improvement would be offering wet napkins with meals. Regardless, will certainly visit again and recommend.

We moved to the Seattle area 7 years ago from Texas and of the 6 or 7 places I have tried so far this is the best. We were staying the night near here and decided to try it. The brisket was actually served sliced not in chunks like most I have had up here. It had a smoke ring, smoked flavor and was tender but a tad dry. The ribs were tasty and tender. The chicken was tender but could have used a little more flavor. We had mac&cheese and potato salad for the side and they were good but not outstanding. It was a special treat to see they had Big Red to drink. That is a Southern soda I don’t get much around here. Bottom line, if you want a good meal for a good price, check out Jazzy John’s BBQ. We will be back.

Jazzy John’s has been around awhile now, and is hitting its stride nicely. Food is consistently good and flavorful. The sides have improved over the years and are now quite tasty.
Love the burnt ends. So does everyone else, as they often run out.
