It’s is pricey. Honestly what isn’t. Isn’t that many places in Sikeston to have a family meal unless it is China. Rest is the hamburger places for real. At least you can get a family deal at Jay chicken. We got the 16 family pack comes with mashed potatoes slaw gravy and 10 biscuits. The for was good also. I was in the drive though and they didn’t make anyone wait for a lone time. If you haven’t tried Jays chicken yet you really need to. Am sure you will love it.

Just passing thru at thought we would give it a try..the chicken is just ok..really needs more seasoning..the chicken gizzards were very tender but was very under seasoned way worse than the chicken itself..sides were okay..overall for us..4 out of 10..service was great and employees were very friendly

First time here, recommended by a coworker. Old school feel when you walk in, old school letterbox menu service was very quick and friendly. I got the chicken sandwich and fried okra which is very basic, and they were both 10/10. Both were great!! Feels home cooked in a way. If you’re on the fence just do it, this place kicks any fast food chicken joint out of the water easily. Coworkers got 3 piece meals and every piece they got was huge! I ended up spending $11.53 for my sandwich, okra, and drink.

I think the increase in prices here is a little much but when you’re the only Chicken House in town I guess you can do that. The chicken was cooked too long the actual meat inside was tough and crispy on several pieces. Grease needed chg’ing.

Spectacular little chicken joint. Hands down the best fried gizzard I’ve ever had. Barely any bite to them as opposed to the crispy fried bubblegum you get most places. The steak biscuit and 3 piece were great as well! Had the Mac and cheese, broccoli and cheese, and turnip greens and all were above average. Staff is friendly and the place isn’t super modern but very clean. The prices are almost jaw-dropping in this day and age. Dad and I had lunch for under $20, as opposed to almost $20 each like normal. If you’re in Sikeston and in the mood for chicken this place beats out the best of them. 11/10 MUST TRY

Some of the best fried chicken you will ever put in your mouth. Very tinder. Moist buttery biscuits. Great coleslaw and other sides as well.

Stopped here wanted something besides Burgers. Food was great, chicken was golden brown and not over battered…mashed potatoes and gravy was right out of someone’s grandma’s kitchen…They gave me a sampling of the chicken gizzards and livers…which they boil before frying and I am telling you buttery soft…and the special jalapeno sauce was off the chain!…Staff so friendly this is a must stop for us.

I’d come back all the way from North Carolina to have this again. The coleslaw is on another level. For an impressive flavor contrast take a big lump of coleslaw, put it on the fried chicken, and take a bite. Gizzards were perfectly tender and the best I’ve had from a place. Usually I don’t like them that much but these were great.

Chicken a touch bland. It was all not bad, but nothing particularly *good* either. Okra and biscuits were the best, and they would rank a solid 4/5.

Didn’t try the gizzards this trip — forgot about them at order time.
