Wonderful dinner with my wife and daughter.

They have a nice kid’s menu and brought the kid order out with the appetizer, always a good choice.

The calamari, lobster bisque, wagyu burger, and mussels were all delicious.

Service was wonderful and attentive.

Really liked the ambiance as well. Nice, mellow dinner night.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Jays and WOW! The staff went above and beyond! The service was amazing and the manager and the chef made a point to stop by our table to see if we were enjoying our special meal. The special was the Tomahawk steak that comes with two sides. We also enjoyed the Salumi board, champagne and vodka martinis. Everything was perfect! I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions. Thank you all for helping us celebrate our anniversary!

Amazing service!! Beautiful restaurant, and even better food!!! We had the crab cake special, it was perfect!! So much crab. We had the tuna poke, the tuna was very very good and it was well flavored as well, for the meal we had the halibut and the lobster tails, and both dishes were absolutely perfect!!! Loved eating here and can’t wait to come back!!

Under new ownership! Awesome updates to the ambiance and menu. The menu now features more vegetarian and gluten free options. Small plates that were only available in the bar area are now available through out the restaurant. Awesome food, awesome service. Definitely worth checking out if you’re around old town.

Reserved a table for a birthday dinner and it was a lovely evening. Live jazz and a nice atmosphere all around. Great food, we loved the salmon and lamb shank entrees. It was a little busy at 7 on a Saturday, so plan to spend at least 2 hours here if you choose a weekend. We would definitely come back for another celebration some day!

We went to Jay’s Bistro with some good friends and had a nice time, but the tomahawk steak was a bit of a letdown. We were expecting something amazing, but it was just okay. The flavor and texture didn’t wow us, and we felt like we paid too much for it. The waitress was nice and helpful, but she didn’t warn us about the price when she suggested the tomahawk. We’ve eaten here before and loved the food, but this time the tomahawk steak didn’t live up to our standards.

Went here for my birthday tonight and had an absolute blast. Our servers name was Kate and she was a rockstar, had me and my good friend laughing the entire time. Too bad there was no sparkles! The food was great, the atmosphere was extremely comfortable, and the wine pairings they had we were excellent. I plan on going back!

Not what I expected, at all. With prices rivaling Chimney Park, and actually being more expensive for some plates, we expected amazing food with soul. We got fancy hotel chain experience, if even.

Starting with drinks – “Sea you later” sounded so promising. Gin, blueberry syrup, Lillet blanc, lemon juice, rhubarb bitters, prosecco. All I tasted was gin and prosecco. It was almost like they forgot half the ingredients. Standard $10 per drink, but I’d opt out next time.

Appetizer – we shared crab cakes. Sharing was a bad idea – there were two of them and they were minuscule. Not warm throughout, with a surprisingly bland bearnaise sauce, and with the cardinal mistake of including some shell pieces in them. Thankfully they came with a slice of lemon so we were able to get some acidity and flavor. So not worth the $20 asking price.

For main courses, we had the lamb chops and scallops. Scallops were nice, well seared, but the “risotto” was just some mushy reheated rice. Very far removed from a proper plate of risotto you’d expect at the price range.

Lamb chops with potatoes au gratin and sugar snap peas were fine, if completely generic and uninspired. The star of the night were the snap peas – surprisingly snappy and well done. Lamb was cooked properly, potatoes were fine too, but it did not taste like a $50 plate of food. Just… forgettable.

Also, it was so very loud in there. Noise level was on par with a sports bar. I’m not sure how or why – it’s a nice bistro with live jazz, but we could barely have a conversation across a two person table.

All in all, a very uninspired meal, especially considering the price. With tip, at $170 for two (one app, three drinks, two main courses), it is extremely overpriced for what you get. I keep comparing it to Chimney Park because of the similar price point when you opt for a la carte, but in reality, these two places are so far removed, they aren’t even on the same playing field. Heck, I’m not sure if they are playing the same sport.

2.5 stars from me, if Google allowed half stars.I’ve read the other amazing reviews and I am bummed we missed that experience. Maybe we went on an off-night.

Atmosphere and server were nice, but was very disappointed in the portion size. $38 plate and I finished the steak in 5 bites. Ended up going elsewhere for a “second dinner” afterwards because I was still starving. I frequent the higher end restaurants in town and this was a bit of a disappointment compared to the other options available. I’d rather go to the cache or Still Whiskey for a properly cooked steak that will be 3-4x the size with plenty of sides that are actually cooked to temp. There was only about 3 spoonfuls of rice too. It was one of those experiences where it looks good on paper and when the plates delivered you go “really? Come on man…”
