During our drive to North Dakota, after seeing some amazing reviews online we decided to stop at Jay Ray’s for some sandwiches.
We were absolutely delighted with the food, as well as the service. We had the pleasure of meeting Brian and Ritchie, and it was very clear that they care greatly for both their food and customers. Friendly conversations, extremely fresh ingredients, and some of the best deli sandwiches (and cookies) we’ve had!
We went with Brian’s recommendations of the Italian Beef, The DeNiro and The Karen. The beef was just as good as something you’d get in Chicago (which makes sense since that’s where Brian and his brothers are from!). The DeNiro and Karen were just as good in their own ways. It would seem you really can’t go wrong with any of these options!
It’s no surprise that this lovely little place has been going strong for six years, and I’m sure it will be around for many more to come. We’ll surely be back anytime we’re passing through the area.
Do yourself a favour and try Jay Ray’s as soon as you can. You will NOT be disappointed !

Best sandwiches in town, by far. It’s the one spot I always recommend to visitors. The Italian beef is incredible and authentic, and every other option I’ve had is great too. I heard a rumor that Chicago-style dogs might be added to the menu soon–I’m hoping it happens!

Stopped by while I was in town for work. One of the best subs I’ve had. Love the avacado on the sandwich. it’s such a great idea. Would definitely go back when im in the area. The bread is phenomenal!!!

Food here is absolutely amazing!!! The service here is beyond incredible. We have always been treated with the most kindness and respect. I highly recommend getting food here, I know people travel just to come here for a sandwich. Keep up the great work and good food Jay Rays!

We stopped here in a roadtrip because my husband had been here before and thought it was the best sandwich he’d ever had. I warned him not to get my hopes up so high.
WELL! He was right. I had the Kickflip (roast beef and turkey) and it was amazing. The slivers of onion were the perfect amount and really made the sandwich, imo. And the avocado was a perfect addition. I think the aioli was great, and the bread was the best that I can remember. Skip Subway, and skip the fast food. Jay rays will be our favorite the next time we’re in eau claire.
