Food was excellent. I would highly recommend any of their steaks. The seat I was sitting at which was near the air conditioning unit was a little chilly. I asked the staff to turn it down and they did. Service was good. Atmosphere was pleasant, although a little dark and there was no lamp, so it was challenging to read the menu. I asked for a lamp which was provided. Any issue I had was solved immediately.

I visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening and unfortunately left feeling disappointed with the overall experience. I ordered a T-bone steak cooked medium rare, but it arrived well done. While the steak was still enjoyable, it was not prepared as requested.

The restaurant was very busy, and the tables were positioned quite closely together. Toward the end of the meal, the experience felt rushed. Staff attempted to clear my plate at 4:45 despite me not having finished, and I was reminded that the table was required back at 5:15. Shortly after, the bill was placed on the table without any offer of dessert or additional drinks, which made the ending feel abrupt and unwelcoming.

I do understand that the restaurant is small and operates on tight schedules, particularly during busy periods. However, when spending £144 on a meal, it would be reasonable to expect a more relaxed and considerate dining experience rather than feeling pressured to leave.

On a positive note, the cocktails and pints were excellent, and the steak, despite being overcooked, was still of good quality. With better communication around table times and a less rushed approach to service, this restaurant could offer a much more enjoyable experience.

visited on 6/3/26, the service was very good and food was lovely. I had haggis bon bons followed by sea bass. My wife has the pate and burger. No complaints

Went here for lunch, quite quiet for midday but the staff were lovely. The haggis bon bons were absolutely delicious! I got the burger as my main, the burger and toppings were very tasty however the bun just fell apart. My onion rings were a bit undercooked but apart from that it was a nice meal.

This was the first time attending the restaurant that we had great reviews from friends.
My partner had the haggis bon bons and really liked then.
Ordered the chateaubriand to share which was really disappointing. The steak was really dry, it came with potatoes (3 halves each), veg, was supposed to be macaroni & cheese (but was cauliflower and cheese without saying) and a Yorkshire pudding. Everything lacked any seasoning and was bland. For spending £91 on just the steak I was expecting a lot better than it was.
Waited an hour to get our main meal and for spending a total of £110, with only a couple of soft drinks, for 2 people wasn’t the meal I was expected.

First visit here and it was absolutely fantastic! The meal started with Haggis Bon Bons and Chicken Liver Parfait, both of which were delicious and beautifully presented.

For the main course, we had the Sunday roast and the butchers burger, accompanied by beer-battered onion rings and macaroni with crispy onions (of-course ) . Each dish was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor, and left us wanting more.

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this place. We will definitely be coming back!

First time visiting here and cannot fault it! Staff were all very accommodating and friendly even when they had a day of big tables, food was delicious, very good quality and well presented and a lovely atmosphere especially with the Christmas decorations. Look forward to returning soon

My wife and I dined in last night and were very impressed with the front of house service – both individuals were friendly, attentive and accommodating. The Margherita was particularly good. Recommended

Absolutely loved my first visit here. The food was fantastic and the service top notch! Can’t fault it at all! Noted on my booking it was a birthday dinner so they took one of the cocktails off the bill. Decor is really quirky, rustic and atmospheric. Our server Kerri was brilliant! Olives and warm bread were brilliant, steak was cooked to perfection!
