Wow!! What an incredibly QUAINT little cafe! Especially the upstairs seating area I highly recommend! The vibe here was amazingly calm and peaceful. There’s an Epiphone acoustic guitar upstairs that looks free to play, too.
The vanilla latte I ordered was outstanding and better than Starbucks or anywhere else I can remember.
Oddly the prices aren’t listed on the outdoor menu nor the large menu on the wall behind the counter. The only place I saw prices was a printed menu when you walk in the door – and there was only 1 copy left. Anyway prices were normal – $4 for normal size latte, $5 for large.

Amazing service this morning! The baristas were incredibly understanding and helpful when I asked for an alternative to my usual drink. They suggested several options, took the time to explain each one, and even let me taste it before I left. They made it clear they were happy to adjust anything if needed. The service was outstanding—friendly, patient, and genuinely thoughtful. Such a welcoming experience.

We we’re pleasantly surprised with the food, coffee and atmosphere at Java Dock Cafe. We had the Burrito, Sausage Egg Bagel and Egg Bacon Bagel. The Bagels and all ingredients were very fresh and tasty. One thing we wished, was that they would stay open later so we could eat their food for dinner! Whenever we return to Port Washington, this place is on our ‘short-list’ to always return too.

There is no other establishment that I enjoy visiting like I do Java Dock Cafe in the beautiful city of Port Washington. Their innovative drink specials, made to order food with fresh ingredients and the friendly faces are what keep me coming back! I have celiac disease and they are always so wonderful about accommodating my #glutenfree needs. Grateful to have such a wonderful business in our community.

Stopped here on my way back home and was so glad I did! It’s an interesting set-up where the checkout counter is on the first floor and the seating area is on the second. I like it though since I feel like it keeps the hubbub of people ordering away so you can focus on enjoying your food and drink, reading a book, or writing something like a substack in my case.
I got an egg sammy which was a simple yet deceptively complex and delicious dish thanks to the guacamole on it. For a drink, I got The Salty Dog and really enjoyed the amount of caramel and salt they put in it – it hit the perfect sweet spot.
It was quiet and empty when I was there, but that’s probably because I was there shortly after opening. Staff was very friendly and I’m definitely coming back next time I’m out that way!

I had really helpful baristas as I’m new to coffee. They walked me through my options and explained that they served breakfast and lunch up until 2:00 each day. My food and coffee came to me with very little wait and I was excited to see the upstairs seating area.
Upstairs was a perfect spot to meet up with a friend or get some work done with their great seating options and complimentary wifi. The decor was fantastic and the patrons we’re friendly. I was lucky enough to bump into my neighbor and he explained that he’s known about this great spot for awhile now.
Nevertheless, I am ready to make it a go-to spot.

The cafe wasn’t open over the holidays when we went to visit but the peppermint coffee and the strawberry smoothie was delicious. The local artwork, photography and paintings in the upstairs seating area makes it feel really comfortable for an outing with friends. It was quiet upstairs and the sunlight from all the windows was really nice even on an overcast day.

During our visit to Port Washington, we decided to have a quick brunch and coffee at Java Dock Cafe. They have a good selection of brewed coffee as well as soups and sandwiches. The food was yummy and very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and helpful in selecting food choices.
There is a quaint seating area upstairs where local artists works are featured.
