5 stars for the food but I question the service. When we walk in, the waiter asks if this is the first time and we were recommended with a lot of the high end seafood dish. We decided to go with spicy chicken, pad Thai and the Khao Sok and I felt a bit odd with the waiter, almost seem disappointed that we didn’t order enough food. The food was amazing and I will love to come try more items on the menu. When we check the bill, the same waiter didn’t even say thank you after correcting the payment, maybe I didn’t tip enough. I don’t know, maybe is just 1 waiter that cause the scene while the rest of the team seems to be fine.

This was the BEST, most delicious Thai food ever. I’ve tried many Thai restaurants and this was the tastiest most delicious food! I gave 4* because I found it very cold inside. I will return! The Tom Yum soup was absolutely incredible!!!!

At first glance, this is the kind of Thai spot you might overlook. After one meal, it’s the kind you start quietly recommending to friends. The food is consistently delicious—bold, well-balanced flavours without unnecessary fuss—and impressively affordable for the quality. Inside, the décor feels authentically Thai without being overdone, creating a comfortable, unpretentious setting that keeps the focus where it belongs: on the food. We enjoyed the Pad Thai and the Pad Kee Mao and is intending on returning for more.

Dropped by this cozy Thai spot and tried the green papaya salad, soft-shell crab curry, tom yum soup, shrimp cakes, Thai milk tea, and mango sticky rice. Overall, everything was pretty good! The shrimp cakes weren’t as bouncy as I hoped, and the milk tea was a bit too sweet. The mango in the sticky rice was also a little underripe, but the service was great.
Tables for two were a bit tight, but I’d definitely come back to try more dishes next time!

Amazing Thai food!
Definitely can’t judge the book by the cover. This place wasn’t located at the most convenient place and it had limited parking but you will be pleased by the food.
The menu certainly has a few unique items that I have never seen before: deep fried mushrooms (金针菇), mango dessert with sticky rice (糯米饭). However I have to say I really like their green curry. It’s light but still flavourful. The mango salad was okay but it’s not the mango season when we went.
Next time I would try their dessert and the Thai drinks. Looked delicious on the menu!

A gem of a restaurant! Their lunch deal is an excellent deal. The papaya salad comes with such large portion! Pad thai and tom yum noodle were both very flavourful. We loved the mango salad that came with the chicken satay but thought the satay sauce is a bit too sweet

This has to be one of the best Thai restautants in Canada, located on Yonge street in Richmond hill with various other locations.
The ambience is cozy and rustic and the staff was very friendly and warm.
We tried the below dishes.
1. Cocktail – Fiery Tamarind – 4/5
2. Veg spring roll – 3/5
3. Panang curry with rice – 5/5
4. Khao Soi with Tofu – 4.5/5
A must visit place on a gloomy/rainy day.

My favourite Thai restaurant in Richmond Hill! Outstanding value on the lunch menu. Try the green curry and the pad thai! Outside of the lunch menu, try the khao soi. I’m not exaggerating. The khao soi here is the best I’ve had in Canada. The noodles are tasty while the broth is utterly delicious. Why would anyone eat at Thai Express and not an authentic Thai eatery like Jatujak? The service can be a bit inconsistent though depending on the mood of the waiter. Parking in front of the restaurant is also a limited though there’s free parking close by. The establishment itself is also a bit small.

One of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to. Portions are generous, they all look amazing, and the taste…oh the taste!
