A Rainbow welcomed us to the restaurant ! Stunning lake view after the rain. And Walleye fish on the menu, maybe from the lake?
Swenson’s steak from the ranch across street, all natural and a must try! The complimentary salad bar has a good selection. 6-layer chocolate cake- who can say no to? Unique experience worth a visit if you are in this area.
Super nice Ryan is our server who loves fishing too

We arrived when they opened and still had a half hour wait which wasn’t bad. Relaxing outside next to the lake was quite nice. They alert you on your phone when your table is ready, also nice. The restaurant was quite busy, loud and very crowded. The wait staff was great as was the food. Prices were a bit high.

We eat at Jassen’s often and at various meal times. Staff remembers your name and most of the time they already know what beverages to bring to your table. Food is GREAT and that is not an exaggeration. Prices are what you should expect for this caliber of food. Brunch on Sunday’s is unbelievable and too much to taste of all the items in one visit, you must come again. To sum up our experience would be to say the food, staff and service are beyond authentic and enjoyable.
Only one word of wisdom and that is to remember that a lot of people visit this restaurant and at times the line can seem endless, but it isn’t and a little patience will get you in and ready to eat just as quickly as being grumpy and waiting in line, lol. I have to remember that myself!

We enjoyed a wonderful selection of food. We love that we could dock the boat, come ashore & eat great food. The crawfish dip was a family favorite for sure. Not one of the 8 of us walked away hungry. I only wish I’d had room for dessert!

What a fun place. We arrived at 6:00 on a Saturday and it was packed. It was already over an hour wait. But they had plenty of outside space to hangout and wait. There was live music and watching boats try to dock was certainly amusing. There wasn’t enough space for all the boats trying to dock. Service was great. It’s rather small inside. I agreed with another review. It was super loud. The food was good but not great. When we return we’ll just get sandwiches and play it safe.

So lucky to try the brunch buffet! Arrived at 9am to a line of about 20 groups ahead of us. When they opened at 9am, they seated us quickly and took our drink orders. The buffet line went very quickly. Best omelette bar I’ve ever had! Don’t miss the mini waffle covered in fresh strawberry compote and dipped in chocolate gravy. I made myself a Monte Cristo with cinnamon-sugar crusted French toast, ham slice, omelette slice and dipped in strawberry compote. Service and atmosphere are hectic, the door line gets confused with the buffet line, but it all worked out. Highly recommend, and I know why this is my brother’s favorite breakfast place!

We just ate the breakfast buffet at Janssen’s Lakefront Restaurant and it was outstanding! I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a spread of delicious food outside of a major city.
They had your normal favorites like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, waffles, French toast, biscuits, gravy, and cheese grits, but imagine my surprise to see Eggs Benedict, sausage and cheese taquitos, slices of spinach quiche, small bagels with a sort of shrimp bruschetta topping, and little crocks of shrimp & grits! The owner was manning the omelet station. They also had as assortment of pastries and a full salad bar.
That starts at 9am, but then at 11am, they bring out lunch selections such as baked salmon, tri tip, loaded mashed potatoes, garlic spinach, and corn maque choux.
They had specialty cocktails including a loaded Mimosa, but I had the spicy Bloody Mary and it was awesome.
It was packed (I assume for the eclipse) but our wait was only 15 minutes. The service was great, everyone was so nice and friendly, and very attentive. They are selling eclipse shirts for $20 each.
We will be here a week so I’m sure after trying all the establishments in the area, we likely will be back for our last dinner and hope for a window seat

Dropped over one hundred dollars here for two ribeyes and crawfish dip. The dip was decent, but the steaks? Absolutely rotten—smelled foul the second I cut in. Couldn’t eat a bite, now feeling sick. Avoid this place. Zero stars if I could.

Fantastic place, right on the lake, for lunch. You can even motor in to their dock. Best burger I’ve ever had and Stephanie gave the best service, bright, cheerful and funny. I’ll have to check out dinner on my next trip!

We travel to this area every year in March and Janssen’s is always a planned visit. The food is always amazing. Tonight I had Chilean Sea Bass in a Beurre Blanc sauce. Cooked to perfection and a wonderful flavor.
