Jamo’s is by far the best restaurant in Herkimer. The food is hands down delicious. I highly recommend the poutine and their burgers are made to perfection. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with the fireplace creating a great atmosphere in the diningroom. The wait staff was super friendly and helpful as well. We will be back!

The food here was excellent, and they had quite a few different choices. Calamari was perfect, not chewy at all. Good beer choices from Empire. Steak and seafood were cooked perfectly. Those fries though, yum. The service is not designed to be snappy, but they were very attentive and I didn’t feel like we waited that long.

Very good food and the waitstaff is excellent. They have a great buffalo chicken salad, but watch out, it is HOT, HOT, HOT. I ordered it toned down, mild and it was still quite spicy. It had great flavor. Their porkchops are over the top good. Burgers are the best around. Also a great fish fry. You won’t be disappointed in the food. Oh and the owner is a baker and makes her own desserts….yum.

Food experience is actually terrific. Wide variety of delicious meals. But the service is extremely poor. The workers on the floor are nice and apologetic but they shouldn’t have to always apologize for slow service. They warn of each meal being cooked from scratch. On mother’s day they only have one waitress on the floor till 3 o clock when one more came in. Some people came in, waited 20 minutes and walked out. Disappointed the effort isn’t there to strengthen a decent set up. The need improvement quickly. I will not go out of my way to eat there again. Not worth 2 hours for 2 people.

I had a really nice steak with mushrooms, home cut fries and a house salad. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. The steak was cooked exactly how I wanted it (med rare). They served it with steak sauce on the side, but none was needed because the flavor was fantastic. Two thumbs up and I would definitely recommend it.

Owned by a local woman who’s family runs a market with a butcher. The meat they use at the restaurant is very fresh and very good quality. The food is very reasonably priced for what looks and tastes like gourmet or artisan dishes. The menu is seasonal, so it changes throughout the yea, and gives you more variety. There’s a bar, so if cocktails are your thing, they can provide that as well. All seating are tables and very sturdy chairs. The dining area is big enough to accommodate large groups. They have specials all the time. Usually written on a cute chalkboard as you walk in.
The only con I can think of is that it isn’t very warm feeling, although there is a fireplace. It feels like a staged set with the lighting and how much it echoes.

Service was good, loved the bread they served with the meal. The atmosphere was just okay, small dining room with minimal decor and no real atmosphere to it. Food was passable, the only complaint was with the Italian dressing, I don’t think they shook it before dumping it over the salad, so I had a bowl of greens and oil. Otherwise, it’s good. Nothing amazing, nothing awe inspiring, but it isn’t really a local stand out for me.
