If you’re talking roast beef, the North Shore does it better than anywhere, period. Jamie’s is absolutely one of the standouts in the area. I’m still not sure I’ve locked in my personal number one spot overall, but every time I come here it makes a strong argument.

The wife and I took a trip to Salem and Boston and this is our first time visiting the beautiful state of Massachusetts. I couldn’t help but notice all the Roast Beef shops as we were exploring the North Shore. So I started doing some research to find which beef shop would be the best and TikTok pointed me to Jamie’s Roast Beef which was a short drive from where we were staying. Our second day here the wife asked what I wanted for lunch and I said we had to try a roast beef because apparently it’s local delicacy and sadly the only thing close to this back home in southeast Michigan is Arby’s which obviously doesn’t compare. So we stop in and the woman working the counter was super excited that not only was it our first time at Jamie’s but our first time having a beef and she was super friendly and happy to help. Since we were first timers, she recommended we order the roast beef 3 way. So we ordered 2 sandwiches 3 way, one small and one in the biggest size for myself and a side of onion rings which we split. Again, the lady working the counter was super friendly and made us feel right at home. The onion rings were great and a generous serving which 2 people could share easy. She included a fancy sauce for the rings which had a nice zip to it. The roast beef sandwich was easily the best thing I ate this entire trip. The barbecue sauce is tangy and the mayo compliments the sauce and beef well. Dave Portnoy says it’s a shame the rest of the country doesn’t know what a beef is and being from the Midwest, I couldn’t agree more! Jamie’s is fantastic and I’m so glad we stopped here on our trip. Thank you for the warm welcome and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Massachusetts. Go Lions and go Jamie’s Roast Beef!

The three way sandwich and fries were fantastic. The service was amazing too. The lady who served us was extremely helpful and wonderful with our children. She came to our table and we even had a nice chat. I am not sure of her name, but she made us feel very welcome. We will definitely come back. Hopefully she will be there. She brings such a good vibe to the place 🙂

I am not a true Roast beef kinda guy but wanted to try since it is a Boston staple and this place was highly rated. It was a good roast beef sandwich but had a little to much sauce on it for me. The sauce how ever is amazing flavored but over powered the beef. The beef was a little rare for my liking. But over all I thought it was a good sandwich.

My family of 4 spontaneously stopped by Jamie’s Roast beef for lunch today. We ordered a “Sorry JR”, a SmashBurger, a side of chicken fingers, and fries. The food was so good! The most impressive thing about Jamie’s was how kind the staff was to their customers. While we were eating there was a parent picking up a to-go order while carrying their toddler and the woman behind the counter kindly help bring his food to his car unprompted. As a parent myself it means a lot to me when I witness small acts of kindness especially when my kids are also with me. Jamie’s Roast Beef definitely won us over with their food and their friendly, kind, atmosphere. We can’t wait to visit again.

Good sandwich. Got the Super 3 Way: it’s pretty big, but not enormous. There are larger/better value beef places nearby, but this one has a more pronounced beef flavor and less sauce than the competition. I prefer my beef more on the rare side and larger portions, so I probably won’t return: but it was enjoyable nonetheless.
