Stopped in for an iced caramel latte and an everything bagel with chive cream cheese both were delicious. The latte was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet, and the bagel tasted fresh with a really flavorful spread. The shop itself has a cozy, welcoming vibe with lots of food and drink options to choose from. A great spot to relax, work, or catch up with someone. I’ll definitely be back!

People that work there are awesome, always peppy & social.

Bagel sandwiches & tuna salad are crazy good, plus the coffee is great.

One of our favorite lunch stops for our landscaping company.

I’ve been to James Oliver now 4 times so I think that gives me enough experience to give them a review.

When I first tired it almost a month ago, my first impression was “oh my god it’s SO hot in here.” The sun was beating down through the glass windows and it made for a really uncomfortable wait time. Thankfully they have fixed this issue and it’s always cool when you walk in.

The bagels are really tasty. So far I’ve had the plain, salt, sesame, and sesame garlic. Salt is by far my favorite, and fair warning they go heavy on the cream cheese. I love that as a cream cheese fiend, but my sister prefers much less.

The coffee is pretty good. I like their wide variety of syrups and milk options, but I wouldn’t say this is my go to place for an iced latte.

I’ve also had a tuna sandwich and a bacon egg and cheese. Both were good but I really enjoyed the tuna! Super flavorful and a nice treat when you want something a little more lunch forward.

James Oliver is expensive, there’s no getting around that. Just keep in mind that they’re a small business, not some big corporation. Their bagels are obviously homemade, and I think I’m willing to pay a bit more for a better bagel than one at say a Dunkin or Tim Hortons.

The only thing I think that could be improved upon is the wait time. If you go on a Saturday at say 9am/10am, you are easily looking at a 20 minute wait for a bagel and a coffee. And in such a small place it can be uncomfortable to manage and navigate.

Overall I’m happy they’re in the neighborhood!

Excellent! The espresso drinks are great, the bagels and pastries are wonderful, and service is lovely. It’s situated in the heart of downtown Wyandotte, so it’s perfect for a relaxed cafe experience or a quick stop on your way into work.

I have been waiting for months for James Oliver to open in Wyandotte! I go to the Corktown location often and now I’m so happy to have one a few blocks from home!

I knew this one would be smaller and without a big kitchen so I didn’t know what to expect when it came to food. But we were pleasantly surprised to find they had a pretty extent e menu for such a small footprint including ample vegan options!

Welcome to Wyandotte!

Updated: After visiting over at least 20 times I had to give an updated review. I had to take one star off because it doesn’t seem like they have figured out how to manage the wait time for a bagel on Saturday and Sunday and plus if the 30 minute wait time wasn’t enough I ended up getting a plain bagel with egg instead of the veggie bagel with egg ($13) that I ordered. I was so disappointed but I didn’t notice until I had left. I know the employees are overwhelmed but this is the third time something I ordered is totally wrong.

Got the veggie bagel sandwich and added an egg! AMAZING! I had to drive 39 minutes there the next day just to get another one.

This is a great addition to Wyandotte! The bagels were good and the sandwiches were solid. The bacon is not premium, but does the job, and the eggs are pretty good despite their appearance (square cut from a sheet pan). The coffee is great! If you’re dining in, you’ll get a glass and real plates, so order to-go if you’re planning on taking your coffee with you. You could tell they had a bigger budget for the one in Corktown for the interior, but the vibes here are still good and on the way to really knocking out of the park.

I feel so spoiled to have a James Oliver in Wyandotte! I am so excited they are open! The lattes are so flavorful with the 16 ounce coming with three shots of espresso in it! (12oz with 2 shots) Multiple different kind of bagel sandwiches to choose from, the lox dill being my favorite! It’s a perfect location right around the corner from Riforma Pilates so you can start your day off right after your class! Every time I’ve been in there, the staff has been extremely friendly and smiling faces. Highly recommend checking this place out! It’ll be your new favorite breakfast and brunch spot!

James Oliver is amazing! I’m so excited that this Detroit-native coffee shop is brought to Wyandotte. Sophia made us some amazing coffee this morning! The service is thorough and very pleasant. It feels like walking into a pure Wyandotte spot in the best way possible. The music is great. The coffee is great. Would recommend a million times over.
