The chef made me corned beef and cabbage. I wanted rice and peas instead of white rice, and he even added some plantains. It’s not on the menu but he still made it for me. This took me back. I called and told him when I would pick it up.

I ate some of it before taking the picture.

I ordered the jerk chicken lunch special. The jerk sauce isn’t tasty at all tastes more like vinegar and just spicy, really no flavor. The cabbage and vegetables were over cooked, close to mush. The rice and peas taste like Indian spices. I was not happy with my food

We were on our way to Italianfest, and passed by Jamaika Flava. Lines at Italianfest were crazy long, for what was likely mediocre Italian food. So, we popped into Jamaika Flava. It’s a small place with just a couple of tables, and it was quite warm inside, so we asked about sitting outside, and they obliged us, carrying a high-top table outside. That was perfect! We had the “chicken stew” and the jerk chicken. Both came with cabbage/veg mix with rice/beans, and both dishes were delicious, and plentiful, and at $17 for each, I’d say reasonably well priced. Would definitely go again (but would recommend to sit outside if weather permits, or do take out).

Just Left There a Little While Ago…Food Decent…Got 3 Lunch Specials, & All Were Good…Got Stew, Jerk, & Curry…Bussed Down The Jerk “Nice Kick”, Than The Curry, & & Nibbled On Tha Stew Cause I Wanted 2 Save Some for Later…Stew Could Use Just a Little More Season/Flavor, But All in All I Enjoyed…Side Note, I NEVER Eat Plaintains….It Was Something About His/The Look Which Made Me Try Them…Then I Had More, Than More…Lol…For Me 2 Actually Eat Them, Says Alot; And Just to Think, I Started to Tell Him to Keep Them…They Got a Customer Fa Life, & I Can’t Wait to Come Back Through to Try The Goat

The food was NOT worth the price! I ordered a large oxtail meal that came with rice, cabbage, and plantains. There was a ton of flavorless rice, maybe 5 pieces of small oxtails, a scoop of flavorless cabbage, and 2 old hard plantains for $30. Either go somewhere else or cook at home!!

Authentic Jamaican food right here in Syracuse!I Have ate here many times and have NEVER been disappointed so I decided it deserve a review. A lot of restaurants I frequent are hit and miss depending on who’s cooking, but not this one! If the consist high quality food wasn’t enough to keep you coming back, the staff are great too. Regardless of who is working you’ll feel welcomed. Wonderful people with smiling faces and great attitudes, you can really taste the food is made with love.

Also, they have Coco Bread and the oxtails are literally cooked to perfection, meat drips off the bone!! Yum

This was our first time in the city so we wanted to be adventurous. We stumbled across Jamaika Flava and decided to try it. Holy cow I am so glad we did! The beef patties were exceptional! The best we have had! I had the curry chicken and it was perfectly mild spice, the gravy and chicken over the rice and peas was a flavor bomb! My fiancee got the jerk chicken and it fell off the bone it was so tender and flavorful! We recommend this small but great place if you are looking to try something new or if you are a fan of Jamaican food

The flavor was spot on for the many times I’ve eaten in Jamaica. The restaurant looked a bit run down, but it’s all about the food, and while the food was good, the protein portion was way too small for a large curry chicken meal. The red bean rice and cabbage had a smooth favor, and the curry sauce from the chicken was very nice. Back to the chicken, I was given one small wing, and two have small wings. ( bone in)
It made for two bites for 18.00 with a soda. I gave a 2 dollar tip. Should have been at least a 1/2 breast or 2 chicken thighs.
