The food & beer was nothing short of phenomenal. I tried the BLAT (that bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato combo is a game-changer), and it was hands-down one of the best I’ve ever had—crisp, fresh, and packed with flavor. My group went for other delicious choices like the steak, and it was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and seasoned just right. We also sampled a few other dishes, and every bite showcased the kitchen’s talent and attention to detail. The menu has something for everyone, but it’s clear they don’t compromise on quality no matter what you order.
The service was top-notch too—friendly, attentive, and quick without ever feeling rushed. Cooper’s Tavern nails the balance of upscale dining with a welcoming, down-to-earth vibe. If you’re in New Kent or even just passing through, this place is a must-visit. I’m already looking forward to my next trip back! Five stars all the way!
Our main bartender Charlie held us down gave us great recommendations and explained some of the different sections of Wiskey they had bathrooms are super clean.
this establishment is on the cut but very easy to get to following GPS
We will be back, because I want to try other dishes. The calamari was crispy, and had the sauce in the side. I couldn’t decide but went with the scallops, there are 4 of them, very tasty and the risotto was creamy. My husband didn’t care for his roast beef sandwich as much as I enjoyed my scallops, just not what he expected.
The pina colada, was so delicious it was like a dessert.
Our hostess/ server was extremely friendly.
Glad our friends suggested we come here for dinner.
If you’re traveling on the 64 headed east or west, definitely stop in Quinton. It’s about 35 minutes from Williamsburg and I’ll definitely be back
Previously stopped in just for dessert which was quite enjoyable (see review below) and that left me interested in coming back for dinner. Sorry to say the entrees and appetizers were average quality and everything was served luke warm. Basically 5 star prices and 3 star food if I had to sum it up quickly. I won’t go into each individual menu item, but nothing met the quality level of the price being charged for it. I wish I had taken some pictures. Everyone in our group was disappointed with their meals. Probably not going back for dinner. Maybe dessert.
Just stopped in for dessert and was happy I did. We shared the cannoli with a cheese cake filling and a giant piece of chocolate cake. The cannoli was my favorite, served warm with whipped cream and a raspberry topping. It was deep fried and reminded me of a warm funnel cake like you might get at the State Fair. The chocolate cake was rich and chocolatey and checked all the chocolate lovers boxes. Took about half of the cake home because it was too big to finish.
Nice atmosphere and friendly servers. Looking forward to returning for dinner or lunch.
