This small family-owned restaurant in Fruitland Park (Florida) is the perfect lunch date location. There are maybe 12 tables at the Jamaican Jerk Hut & Island Scoops. My wife and I have been several times. This visit included ordering a small beef soup for my wife and I got a Jamaican beef patty to start. The main course was curry chicken with cabbage and rice for the wife. I selected the jerk pork with mac-and-cheese and collard greens. My wife had water and I wanted a Sprite. The chef’s touch is a hit. Every bite is filled with flavor – the greens alone are off the charts. We saved portions of each meal on purpose, so that we could have dessert. My wife had the lemon bar, and she could not stop raving about it. I had a scoop of ice cream on sugar cone. It was $55 before tip. We will most likely drive the 45 minutes again, this weekend.

Food portation size and quality was perfect. Well worth the stop. We had the Jerk Chicken, Jerk Ox Tail, rice with peas and collard greens. Perfection I tell you. Best part is the ice cream after words to cleanse your palette. Highly recommended!

Service and atmosphere was Great but the food to me and I repeat “To Me” was lacking a little seasoning but besides that it was a nice experience. I tried they curry goat, curry chicken, bbbq chicken, Mac and cheese, Cabbage, Collard greens. The mild beef pattie was so good I regretted not getting 2.

This place is located close to the villages. Love the atmosphere went in and met this lovely couple I was talking to. They love Jamaican food but my favorite part was the ice cream. They have a variety of ice cream that you don’t find anywhere. You find it in Jamaica like Grape, nut, rum and raisin. All the different kinds of cherry flavor. The ice cream was off the chain and when you go in there don’t forget to try the ice cream.

If you want real Jamaican food you will not find it here. I tried two different meals before leaving a review and both times it was horrible. Even if it is americanized Jamaican food it still doesn’t taste good.

Really great food and lovely people!!! So glad they put the huge Jamaican flag out front so I noticed they were here!!! This is real home cooking, food worth spending money on – no fast food, overpriced, boring choices here, this is crazy good authentic Jamaican food. Will be back soon to try the rest of the dishes, but for today I can vouch for the stewed chicken and spicy pork being outstanding

They don’t do any refunds for hair being in your food which is crazy. Just Check your food before you take it home. I went there to pick up a replacement and there was still hair in it.

They have the Jamaican accent but not the Jamaican flavor! Mac and cheese over cooked and watery, collard greens has too much vinegar not enough seasoning, oxtails was not seasoned well and doesn’t come with rice. I recommend knight owl in Eustis !!!!!!!!

I come and get food here all the time and it’s always delicious but today I got the oxtail like always and 3 big pieces of meat were very tough (it wouldn’t come off the bone) couldn’t eat them , and the rest of the meat was abit more eatable but most of the meat was very tough today. I have had the oxtail here over 10 times and the meat always falls off the bones and all the meat on my plate. Just hope it a today issue. Oxtails is expensive to get a few bites of meat :/
