Food was excellent. I ordered large and had quite a few meals off what I ordered. The chicken was so tender and did in fact fall off the bone. Be careful with bone fragments. I ordered jerk chicken and chicken curry.
Have to order the oxtail early I think because they run out quickly it seems, so I can’t review those.
As an anecdote, I ate jerk chicken at Scotchies in Jamaican in October 2025 and I can honestly say that what I ate at Jamaican Jerk Center in ol Akron, Ohio was better.

The worker was really nice, but when I got there they didn’t have a lot of the items that make a Caribbean/Jerk spot what it is. Like… what’s a plate without mac n’ cheese and yams? Despite that, I still went ahead and ordered.
The food looked amazing and had potential until I got to the “jerk” chicken. It was literally just BBQ sauce. As someone who has eaten jerk for years and can make jerk chicken and sauce myself, this had no jerk flavor at all. I asked for it to be spicy, and instead of actual spicy jerk seasoning, it was just hot pepper sauce. Most places offer mild or spicy jerk sauce in cups on the side, but that wasn’t the case here.
It honestly seemed like a one-man operation in my opinion. Despite the disappointment with the chicken, the rice and peas and the cabbage were very flavorful.

The atmosphere was nothing to speak about. It’s a take out restaurant so there’s nothing to speak about. They were kind and answered whatever questions I had. They did not have all items on the menu available which was a bummer because there was things I would have liked to tried. The food was ok. There’s a certain flavor in looking for when I get jerk food and it wasn’t noticable in their food. They give big portions. I would try it again.

The food was hot, flavorful and some of the best Jamaican food we had in a while.The owner was friendly and personable. If you need to satisfy your tastebuds, give them a try.

We had jerk chicken and curry chicken door dashed, we ordered the large and it was proper large, jerk was amazing, spicy and flavorful, the sides were awesome, curry chicken cooked perfectly, the most flavorful couple of dishes we’ve had in a while, this place is permanently in the rotation from now on!

I recently chowed down at the fresh-off-the-block Jamaican joint, and I gotta tell ya, it’s a straight-up fire. I ordered the oxtail and the barbecued jerk chicken the flavors were lit, just the right blend of spices and smokiness. Each bite was like a one-way ticket to Jamaica, and that chicken? Tender and juicy, cooked to perfection fam. The crew was mad cool. I’m itching to go back and explore more of their menu. This spot is a real treasure, a must-hit for anyone looking for some legit Jamaican food. Oh and let’s not forget they are open late unlike all the other food spots in this area.
