My food you see here was $31.22 after taxes. The menu you see in there is NOT what they go off of so BEWARE . There are no sides included with the $22.88 Alfredo “dinner”. I had to pay $5.50 for that bowl of Yams you see. The pasta was over cooked and it all tasted reheated . For the price everything should be fresh.
If I do come back it’ll only be to get sides.
Definitely wasn’t worth all that money .

The food is amazing! They give the best proportions. We decided to go because we saw an Instagram of the Black Foodies and their food looked very good. We have 4 jerk wings, 2 jerk chicken tacos, salmon dinner with mac and cheese, yams, and red beans and rice. My mom had jerk chicken (white) dinner. We will be back because everything tasted absolutely delicious!!

Jam-Rock Express Jerk isn’t fancy, and honestly, that’s part of the charm. It’s a small spot, no big signs or trendy decor, just a straightforward setup where you walk in, place your order, and wait for something that smells like someone’s been cooking all day just for you.
I went with the Jerk Chicken Alfredo, which sounded like an interesting combo and it totally delivered. The Alfredo sauce was creamy and flavorful without being too heavy, and you could tell it was made fresh. It had a nice buttery taste, and there was just enough spice to keep things interesting without overwhelming the whole dish.
But the jerk chicken? That was the star. It had a deep, smoky flavor and a heat that built up slowly with each bite, not in a “mouth on fire” way, but enough to remind you it means business. The outside had a good char that added a little crunch, while the inside stayed super tender and juicy. You can tell they know what they’re doing with that grill.
The bell peppers mixed in were a nice touch, added a bit of crunch and sweetness to balance things out. It’s a simple dish, but everything worked together really well.
The portion was solid, definitely enough to fill you up and I left full and happy. If you’re looking for something flavorful and comforting, especially on a cold day, this is the move. I’ll definitely be back.

The overall experience was not very good. It took way too long for what we received. We walked in and the staff seemed to be very confused as to what they were doing and as they were packaging up the food they were going back and forth about an Amazon package that was supposed to be picked up the next day which delayed how long we were in the restaurant. they then had us standing there waiting for another 7 minutes for them to package up the sauces. At that point I checked my order and I was missing my plantains once informing the staff that we were missing the plantains we waited almost an additional 10 minutes to get our plantains. While waiting for our plantains, the young staff member went on to talk about weed and even went out of his way to ask me for my phone number as well. Made me feel very uncomfortable. On top of all that when we ordered our food online. Our food order would not submit unless we put a Minimum of 18% gratuity on it. For an 18% gratuity added to my meal without Me being able to take it off my food should have been ready in on time. I walked in at 7:36 and didnt walk out until 7:58. Mind you the food was ready as soon as we walked in. Once we got home the food wasn’t very good either. It was very cold. Everything was microwaved I know everything was microwaved because as we were waiting for the sauces and the plantains I just heard the microwave in the back going off and off. The black beans and rice were very dry. The cabbage was very oily and my plantains were underdone. The only good thing was the chicken and even that was a little dry. I don’t think I would ever go back to this location.

The food was great. I really enjoyed the oxtails and the curry goat the best just because it’s something different than what I usually order at Jamaican restaurants ! Their plantains were really good, along with the cabbage, greens, and callaloo. Y’all know Jamaican mac is not like southern mac & cheese so keep that in mind. Their jerk sauce is a sweet & spicy sauce, which I found very interesting bc one of my friends was just telling me how she tried jerk in Jamaica and it was so different from the jerk we have here in the Chicagoland area. They were super nice and even fed a homeless man. Overall, I would come back again!

So we just moved from San Antonio to Chicago and wanted to try something different. This place is a express restaurant so don’t expect full restaurant service nonetheless the food was great. Ordered beef patties and although they were good they were microwaved and soft instead of crispy but still good. The jerk chicken was moist and flavorful and the rice was fantastic. Great place for a quick meal, great music and super clean. Just understand that it’s an express restaurant.

This place was okay.. I really wanted to like it & was excited based on the reviews, but I was a bit disappointed. You can see from the pics the Mac & cheese was a bit dry and looked like it’d been sitting out. The chicken was okay.. it lacked the real jerk flavor I’m used to, but it was juicy. The rice & peas were okay. The ‘candied yams’ were like cut up baked sweet potatoes & honestly were the best thing I tasted and they weren’t all that either. The restaurant is very clean though and nice music while you wait. Maybe I caught them on a bad day but it wasn’t worth a return for me.
