Absolutely amazing time! It was BUSY! We waited at the bar for 30min, not bad as we chatted with locals. And once we were seated we were so happy with our table and view. The food was seasoned baby lol. Drinks were great, staff was down to earth. I am excited to go back on a warmer summer day.

We saw great reviews for this place, 75 years of service, and an attached seafood shop, so we had high hopes. The portions were great, but the textures and flavor just didn’t match, sadly. When you have the raw materials on hand and charge the prices listed, you’d expect a specialty seafood joint on the water nearly a century into business to absolutely nail it. That just wasn’t the case, unfortunately. I left the entrée more than half untouched, and that’s how it ended. You’d think there would be follow-up questions as to why your prepared food is coming back, but there were none. Jake’s Seafood is okay, but you’d want better than “okay” for the price.

We were there 07/06/2025 around 7pm. It was absolutely packed and had to wait some time but the wait was understandable given how busy it was. My partner mentioned that the hostess up front had a bad attitude but to me I didn’t notice, she just seemed overwhelmed. Other than that everything was phenomenal. I got the broiled lemon garlic halibut with Brussels salad and French fries, yum! Hope to come back soon.

This restaurant was everything and more then expected. We decided to go for a late lunch around 2:30pm. We had clam chowder, calamari, boiled lobster and a lobster role, each with French fries and coleslaw and drinks. Our server was Cassie S. and she was fabulous: attentive, offered suggestions and clarity on menu items, checked in with us to be sure all was well. The food was delicious!

Great local seafood joint that’s been around forever. Their lobster bisque, buffalo shrimp and lobster roll were all really good. Cocktails are okay but as to be expected for a seafood spot. Always busy but the wait is usually minimal, if at all. Service is quick and staff are kind.

Nice location. I’d never been to Nantasket, it’s a very nice beach. Jake’s must do good business because it is really the only seafood venue of its kind in the area. Great location right across from the beach and there are waterfront views from most of the restaurant. Fun old school New England fish restaurant vibes. The lobster roll was average size and the meat was nicely cooked. Not very sweet but not much can be done about that. Oysters were nice and fresh. Crab cakes were also nice. Probably my favorite part of the meal was the clam chowder – great whole chunks of clam. One of the best bowls I’ve had in a while. I thought for the location and the quality of the food Jake’s was an excellent value. We had guests visiting from the west coast who wanted good New England seafood and they loved it here.

Appetizer of the cajun fried popcorn shrimp was 10/10. While the lobster and crab were fresh and delicious- the roll and butter were cold, the rice cold and the regular fries unseasoned. their special of the truffle fries were amazing 10/10. For as recommended as this place is, a little disappointed but maybe just an off day. Definitely would not have paid $100+ had we known.

We stopped after walking along the beach and were seated outside to enjoy the sunset – great location. Our group tried the Cajun popcorn shrimp and buffalo shrimp appetizers and were pleasantly surprised with both. Lobster roll and crab cakes for the mains. Loved the sauce and mango salsa on the crab cakes. Did not enjoy the coleslaw, but we’re used to southern slaw so what can you say. Overall, recommend!
