The plates we ordered had good portions and everything tasted great! Even loved the large lemon slices to squeeze in my drink and on my fries fish!
Only thing I would change would be the tea option. I just personally don’t like Peak tea.
The outside was a bit dark when we went so weren’t sure it was open even though I called ahead of time to make sure. They just have some sort of blinds on the windows which made the exterior dark.
Looking forward to enjoying a lunchtime buffet as those options look great too! If you’re in the area, give them a try!
While I believe there is a time and place for her intentions, this is not it. I am in agreance with her on the obvious take away. However, I find reason to question her motives, her own values, and obviously her choice of location in which to attack.
I don’t know much about Turkey Creek, but I didn’t get the feeling that it’s anything she presented. At first she made me want to hold Jake’s equally responsible, for allowing this to stay up on their reviews. Yes! They could and should’ve had it removed. However, I recognize they didn’t respond to her as they usually do. I saw that as hope they don’t share her view of suggesting All Police have poor behavior on the roads, or other establishments. I believe her view is inaccurate of outside, surrounding, or local authorities and I genuinely hope that I’m correct that’s likely Jake’s as well.
We come here to either praise, or participate, or even complain in our reviews. She clearly snuck in her attack where it doesn’t belong, unless there is something being hidden from the general public and potential customers of Jake’s, which she, herself, made clear is not the case.
Police, like any group of people have good and bad. It would be wrong to condemn the good for the bad, regardless of what BLM, or other racist organizations try to suggest.
Bottom Line, wrong is wrong.
A public apology should be made by Mrs. Panther to Jake’s, and to Law Enforcement just as the personal attack was made. And to a lesser obligation, she should apologize to the public and Jake’s supporters. Things like this could definitely reflect back on the wrong people.
Now, as for my review of Jake’s. To start with, it was for my mother’s birthday. She lives 157 miles north, my wife and I live 162 mi. southeast of Turkey Creek. We haven’t seen each other in a while and she chose Jake’s from 3 suggestions that I made from what appeared as best selections closest yo Bunkie, the halfway point between us and according to Google Reviews. See the importance of what this platform is for?
The place doesn’t look bad from outside, definitely not a star ranking restaurant either. However, the service was pleasant and worthy of praise. I’m only sorry that I cannot remember the young lady’s name. She is very young, very petite, very pretty, very kind, and was more attentive than the average young girl would be in a rush like she managed so well.
The buffet looked very inviting. I almost chose the buffet just because of seeing incredibly delicious looking pork chops and really big juicy looking pieces of fried chicken. I settled on the catfish poboy. It was good, but not a poboy. I’m from N.O.and that wasn’t Lidenhiemer.
The shrimp was far better, which is what my mom and my nephew chose.
Oh well, was still pretty good. The fried mushrooms, hush puppies, & onion rings, BIG HIT. My wife had the catfish plate and salad bar and she really enjoyed it. My brother had the burger and a large order of Cajun French Fries, that was big enough to split between two people. Topping it off, my mom and I shared a banana split. It was ice milk, not ice cream, neither of us looked or questioned what kind of ice cream it would be, just assumed ice cream. It was not bad either. Not worth paying that much for, but ahh, so what. I’d still recommend Jake’s if you’re in Turkey Creek and hungry.
The road is crowded with officers of UNPEACE and DISTRESS but Jake’s Seafood is a safe haven.
