I would like to start this review by saying I have had a lot of disappointing breakfasts at many places. This place was wonderful! We started with the warm cinnamon roll. Which was excellently executed. Lots of thought went in to how to properly heat an serve. Caramelized sides buttery bottom warm icing, top notch! Then my husband and I ordered the best ev-ah dish. His was as is mine was altered. They accomidated which I thought was very nice. Both dishes did not disappoint! The are famous for there corned beef and I can see why! We also got the homeade blueberry an mango jellys also a very nice touch. My son got the smiley face pancake. He loved it an the pancake itself was nice an fluffy. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back! Thank you to all of the staff for making it so wonderful!

We went her after a night at Foxwoods…I wanted breakfast and I googled places around me with the best reviews and we found Jake’s and I must say I am sooo happy we went…It looks a bit run down ( don’t let that stop you from going in) It is very clean… I got the corned beef hash only because They slow cook it and make it homemade…I am always looking for homemade cofnedbeef and its hard to find anyone who cpoks it right…(near me anyway) At Jake’s it was the best I have ever had!!!! I even got seconds to go… My Husband loved his Omelet and he said the pancakes were delicious and fluffy… They make their own homemade jelly 3 different kinds I chose to try strawberry and omg so good!!! I can’t say it enough this place was a 20 out of a 10…. delishhh homemade foods & very nice friendly wait staff….. Only down side to it is now I know I love the corned beef hash but it’s not where near my house … I am going to have to take the 2 hours drive every now and again to go to Jake’s… Thanks for the Awesome service and delicious food …. Oh yeah and it’s not overly priced like other places…

Cheyenne was our waitress. She was so wonderful. Greeted us with a smile and a hot cup of coffee. We went on a Wednesday morning and walked right in. Checking out the menu, we didn’t know what to order. Cheyenne recommended The best-ev-ah. 14 hour slow roasted corned beef homemade hash with 2 eggs and toast. My friend had rye toast and I had gluten free toast. Homemade jelly was delicious. My friend had a toasted cinnamon bun. I ordered a side of bacon nice and crispy. I can’t believe I’ve been in the area and haven’t been here. I’ll definitely be back! Bring a big appetite and enjoy.

Jake’s is the kind of spot that makes you feel right at home the moment you sit down. The food was excellent—everything tasted fresh and homemade. The corned beef hash with eggs was perfectly done, the hash browns were crisp, and the pancakes were fluffy and just the right amount of sweet. Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which really added to the experience. A true hometown diner atmosphere with food and service that goes above and beyond. Highly recommend!

My husband and I ate here while vacationing in Connecticut. I noticed it as it was a short distance from our hotel.
Jake’s Restaurant serves breakfast and lunch.
My husband had coffee, eggs over easy, potatoes, rye toast and bacon. He said the eggs were perfect. Runny yokes and all.
I had the homemade corned beef with potatoes, scrambled eggs, white toast and their homemade blueberry jam. So good!
Brenda was our server and was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our meals there 2 days in a row.
If you’re in the area you should try this wonderful place and have a great meal.

We honestly cannot find enough superlatives to describe Jake’s Restaurant. Our breakfast experience on the first day was nothing short of spectacular, so much so that we had to return for a second helping the very next morning. The sheer perfection of the cinnamon buns, still warm and dripping with glaze, was divine. The banana bread was moist and bursting with flavor, a delightful surprise. For our main courses, the fluffy omelettes were cooked to absolute perfection, and the eggs, prepared exactly how we liked them, were a testament to their attention to detail. And let’s not forget the home fries and hash – crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned just right. Even their homemade jellies were a revelation, each spoonful bursting with fresh, vibrant fruit flavors. Oh my goodness, if you’re looking for a truly exceptional culinary experience, Jake’s is an absolute must-eat destination. Our server, Amy, graced us with her presence both mornings, and I can honestly say I wish she was our waitress everywhere. Her warmth, efficiency, and genuine attentiveness made our dining experience even more memorable. Beyond the incredible food, we were also charmed by the unique, handcrafted birdhouses available for purchase – a wonderful touch that speaks to the restaurant’s commitment to artistry and local charm. We are so incredibly grateful to have stumbled upon such a remarkable and welcoming place!
Oh and the coffee, perfection. Thank you!

A good breakfast place with tasty food and friendly service. Portions are ample, ingredients of good quality and prices are reasonable. Can be a bit slower paced but a good option in the area.

Hands down one of the best mom and pop breakfast/lunch spots in the area! Nice friendly service, family owned and operated. Biscuits and gravy are the main dish for me! Peppery gravy with sausage crumbles and homemade biscuits! Can’t fail here y’all!

Jake’s Kitchen was so good, we went two mornings in a row! The food was tasty and the staff were super friendly and accommodating with special food requests. I can’t eat bread so they wrapped my burger in a creative crisy cheese. Great atmosphere and service overall. The only downside for me was the coffee—it was a light roast and a bit too mild if you’re someone who likes a bold, strong cup. But other than that, everything hit the spot!
