Great time tonight at “yappy hour” where the dogs run free in the back patio. All the dogs were very well behaved and had a great time. Food was okay, slightly overpriced in our opinion for the quality, but worth it to come for an app or two and have some drinks. My husband enjoyed the beer selection- says it’s “very very good.”

Lovely place, Wednesdays at Jakes is a must! Fair price great atmosphere and nice people. I just don’t understand why they don’t let more people outside even though there is plenty of space (and they should definitely work on the toilet situation)

We were a little nervous going to Jake’s because we knew all the dogs were going to be there. It took our dog a few minutes to get used to being able to walk around with all the food around, but he loved it. The manager it owner was walking around the whole time making sure there weren’t any fights (not that he had to worry). The food was excellent and their rippers (deep fried hot dogs) were amazing! As for us, it took some getting used to telling someone else’s dog not too jump on the picnink table, but it was worth every bit.

The GOAT of Five Points! I’ve genuinely never had a bad experience here. The bouncers are kind and do a waistband check which keeps everyone safe. The bartenders are fast and provide great service and I’ve never had a tab that didn’t add up. I can’t speak to the food as they’ve changed some staff since I last was there. The environment is great though.

We LOVE Jake’s for Yappy Hour! We took our boy for his 4th birthday and it was a huge hit! We will always take Mork to Jake’s for a great doggy play time!

First a quick negative; the only negative really. I was visiting family in SC, and they suggested this place, particularly due to it being super dog friendly. We went and the “bouncer,” a young man in his mid-twenties perhaps, tells me that I cannot bring in my pocketknife, which I carry with me all of the time. After putting the knife in the car, I walked back up to the entrance. The same dude sarcastically asked me “you sure you don’t have anything else on you?” I said, “no I don’t Jesus Christ” and walked in. Little guy with a swollen ego damn near had be saying I wouldn’t ever come back. Fire him. However, that was the only unpleasant thing about this place. First, beer. They have a tap house in the sitting area/dog park. They also have a full bar indoors, though dogs must remain outside. Great selection of beers, none of which are outrageously priced. I cannot remember whether they offer food. But let me tell you, people bring their dogs here! From a minuscule purse dog to a fully-grown Great to a Great Pyrenees (which we brought). They mostly all get along, which is wild given that there are usually 10-15 or so dogs at any given time. Anyhow, there’s this gentleman named John who is referred to as “the Dog Whisperer.” He learns the new dogs’ names once and never forgets him. Dogs flock to him, and they stop their bad behavior when he snaps at them. Pretty fascinating to watch, actually. Anyway this place is a sight to behold, namely, Jake’s backyard/dog park area. I highly recommend checking it out. Just don’t have a pocket knife on you. Learned that one! Great place with great overall vibes.

Jakes is consistently one of the best bars in 5 points. Drinks are always on point and fairly priced.

Great place for craft beer and dogs. They’ve made some upgrades to the back including new deck floor, astro turf, and metal picnic tables that make the area clean and safe for humans and dogs. The beer is cold and the bar food delicious. It’s especially nice during the summer months when it’s not so crowded.

Omg! This place is awesome. Our number one reason for coming was because they allow you to bring your dog and let them loose! Now that’s pretty awesome to us. Our lab had the time of his life! Lol.. Beer prices were good, staff was friendly and most importantly everyone was just happy to see our dog!
