We had a great meal at Jailhouse Provisions on Bald Head Island! The scallops basket I ordered was really good, and my husband’s shrimp chipotle wrap was fantastic. My mother-in-law enjoyed her shrimp basket, and her husband said the flounder basket was good, too. Our waitress, Lexi, was super friendly and helpful—especially when I had questions about food allergies. The only downside was the Brussels sprouts basket. It wasn’t terrible, but they were mushy and just not something I’d order again. Overall, a solid experience with great service and tasty seafood!

Why is no one talking about the water…it tastes like car oil. Sadly I ordered a soda and found the same taste. The food was good, hush puppies were okay. Our server was the bar tender and we were quickly forgotten even with few customers there. Oh well.

We stopped here for lunch as there aren’t many choices on bald head island. The food tasted great and it came with average service. The fresh catch sandwich which was grouper was really fresh tasting and nicely seasoned but the portion size didn’t match the price paid. The Blondie dessert was also great but again was pricey for the size received.

Good place to chill out, especially outside. It’s tucked away behind the market. Gyros were pretty tasty and the staff were really friendly. We were here off season so everything is really quiet.

An agreeable place for lunch. A small menu with a versatile variety. I enjoyed the flounder basket. This came with a fair sized fillet. I opted for the batter dipped over the breaded and fried. This was accompanied by some delicious crispy fries and a tasty portion of Cole slaw. A nicely prepared meal for lunch. Our waitress Angela was exuberant with a great sense of humor. Overall a good recommendation from the boys at the turtle conservatory. So a shout out and thank you to them also.

Excellent server who also doubled as a a specialty bartender who made a fantastic “Old Fashioned “ using agave syrup!
Atmosphere was authentic and mimicked the Bald Island laid back none too fancy experience. Plenty of parking for the best mode of traffic on the island, electric golf carts, short effective menu that covered most of the”basics”
My burger was done exactly the way I asked.
Definitely recommend The Jailhouse dining experience especially the giant onion rings!

We all love the Jailhouse!! The food is great! I have tried several things on the menu. From the burgers, the grilled chicken sandwich, to the hush puppies. You just can’t go wrong. Derek, the bartender makes excellent drinks!! The bathrooms are always clean, the wait staff is on top of their game & I love all the outdoor seating. I’m a big fan of all the beautiful plants while your outdoors eating. Plus, this restaurant is on an island. What???? Loving my life.

Jailhouse Provision in my opinion holds the crown for the best restaurant on the island. All the food has been delicious, and the staff is great! Each weekday they have different specials, which have been great to try. The lobster tastes divine and was a highlight meal.

About what you would expect for the island. Island prices for serving sizes just enough to feed a small to medium-sized child. Food was fine for what it was worth and fries hit the spot. Great service though.

Staff were attentive and friendly. Food was good and reasonably priced.
